We've thrown both cups away this year, the season is over, pathetic and embarrassing. This is why people want Puel gone, we should be trying our best to win this cup, not starting bit part players who are long past their best. Shocking.

Albrighton played well but he single handily knocked us out of the cup, literally haha! Ghezzal did ok and if he had given away the peno I would dread to think what the posts in here would be like! They defended in numbers but we managed to break through but to give a goal away like that for me means we deserved to go out!

Xen Posted 6 January 2019 Posted 6 January 2019 Don't think Puel is to blame - that squad should have been good enough to win, and for large parts of it we were well on top and should have scored a hatful. He made the right substitutions to get us back in it, too (Although bringing on King didn't help that much) We lost because of terrible finishing across the board, our experienced defenders falling asleep at the start, and a moment of stupidity from Marc. Hopefully that's the last we see of Okazaki, and a few others have not helped their cause at all.

As for us, we did the job getting back into it. Then Albrighton has a brainfart. Too many players not good enough in the squad but still should have had enough quality.
