Maguire to Man Utd / Man City

United will get Europa football but Harry must see United in a less appealing light now. Could change if they appoint a decent manager.

But he will get the chance to play against the mighty Celtic in the Europa League. Group stages if he joins Manure.

They need to ditch Pogba. Let's hope they don't sign Maguire and Tielemans, it's not implausible.

Doubtful. What’s funny is that whilst Pogba is apparently poison to the side on so many levels, when played in the right way is the most effective footballer they have.

Agreed,  but it seems more about whether he fancies playing or not.

Manchester United are ready to renew their interest in Leicester defender Harry Maguire, sources have told ESPN FC. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bolster every area of his squad during the summer transfer window and Maguire, a target for Jose Mourinho 12 months ago, is a candidate to boost United's options at the back.

Maguire, 26, was one of the few centre-backs both Mourinho and the recruitment team agreed was a suitable target last summer but United were priced out of a move by Leicester who valued the England international at close to £80 million. Maguire has a contract at the King Power Stadium until 2023 but there is hope he can be prised away by an offer from a top six side.

Any move for Maguire, or other targets including Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, would rely heavily on one of United's central defenders leaving Old Trafford. It is unlikely to be Victor Lindelof, one of the best performers this season, while Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have both signed contract extensions this year. There is, however, interest in Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Solskjaer, who saw his team condemned to the Europa League next season after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield, is keen to overhaul his squad with at least one addition in defence, midfield and attack. The new arrivals are set to total more than £200m in transfer fees. A number of departures are expected to make room with doubts of the futures of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Matteo Darmian and Juan Mata, as well as Bailly and Rojo.

Anything over £50m and we'd be laughing to the bank. Dont get me wrong, I love Big H and dont want him to leave. But the £80m that's being touted would go a long way for the club, especially with Soyuncu and Benkovic both being in their very early 20s.

United a "top six" side next season  Ha ha ha  !

Even Ed Woodward cannot possibly be basing transfer plans on the assumption other clubs are ready to pay big to take on the wages of Sanchez, Lukaku, Bailly and Rojo.  Something’s got to give.

But no worries.  Dybala is a snip at 90M, he's probably good-looking enough for his own designer clothing line, and his #10 shirt will sell like crazy.  Oops, Rashford's already wearing the #10.  How about #6, he wants out.

Arsenal are in worse shape though, since by all reports they cannot spend.

I don't think 80m would go a long way for the club. We are owned by billionares we already have a new training ground and stadium extension plans in place. We will sign realistics targets that will improve us with or with out selling our best players.

We should be using United's desperation to get as much as we can. It's not about what he is worth, it's about how much are you willing to pay for him.

I was ready to sell him but he was superb last night and now I don't want too.

£80m is huge for us.

Almost pays for the training ground and covers our transfer net spend for the next three to four years.

It's also about 70% of our gross income for the year.

Arsenal’s budget is (reportedly )€40 mill !

probably less than Watford or Brighton

I have no problem selling our players for world class transfer fees.

I don't mind being that club who has a bigger club's eyes out for £80m and then replace him with a 21 year old for £30m and rinse and repeat.

I thought Bailly was out with a long term knee injury and is due to miss this summer's Africa Cup of Nations?

everyone who is busy selling our England centre half needs to answer the following question:

maguire is proven premier league quality

benkovic isn't yet (and he has injury concerns)

soyuncu hasn't been really exposed to the PL as yet on a regular basis

to assume that one of these guys will just pick up the mantle next to evans ( who himself has injury issues from time to time) is a pretty loose attitude. i would rather keep our best players and sell those just below that level. (unless you are definitely bringing in a replacement who is top quality PL proven for thirty mill less).

What's the question?

In an ideal world we will hold onto all of our players but it's unrealistic when there are others who can offer higher wages or European Football.

No one wants to sell Maguire but the likelihood is that we will lose 1 player a season at least. Of all the players on other clubs radar (Chilwell, Maddison, Vardy,Ricardo) he is the one we could have cover should we sell. Get a very good price and it's a great deal for all parties.

Clubs like ours could really profit from the desperation of teams like United, Arsenal etc. Had poor seasons buy can't attract the elite players so will look to clubs like ours and overpay for the likes of Maguire. £80m would be a fantastic piece of business

Eric Bailly is a very good player. He's got injury concerns but he's not a bad player. But he came to United and has been labelled average. What is it with Man Utd and them making otherwise good players look really awful (Sanchez, Pogba, Martial)? Both United and Arsenal have been totally mismanaged and ruined. Two great iconic clubs are now also-rans.

If Maguire goes there he will be dragged down to the level of crap they have.

This is how Southampton were thinking.
