This may be swayed by the fact that he successfully challenged horrible government policy.

What on earth has that got to do with his footballing ability??

I appreciate what Rashford has done off the pitch, and would happily see him awarded all the honours he deserves for this, an MBE or something similar would be fitting.

Surely thought the Football Writers Footballer of the Year, should only include what you’ve done on the pitch.

Rashford has probably had his best season yet, and will only get better imo, but when you look at the league as a whole he surely wouldn’t be in the top 10 performers this season.

Do UK-based fans realize that JV is a star here in the States?  Lately, most NBC Premier League promos which feature players, include him.   Which is amazing in a “big six” world … but he’s more relatable, enjoyable (and apparently salable to casual fans) than most of the top players those clubs have got.  Not to mention that Golden Boot!

If he wants an MLS farewell tour when his City career winds down, how about the Columbus Crew (two hours from us) ... though I expect his Mrs has grander ideas.

This is an interesting one, Stockbridge making it appear as if Vardy has ignored their need for help and funding.

Seems they are quite desperate considering how much pressure they're trying to put on him. Obviously he doesnt need to donate anything but it would be a nice gesture. Wont think any less of him if he doesnt though.

Stocksbridge chairman has released a statement today about these comments, appears to have come from a conversation with a journalist who has their own agenda to make a story from nothing.

That reads very poorly. Sounds like they are trying to manipulate him to give them money.

Removing his name because they need the income from sponsorship is completely fair though.

Maybe vards should pay the 16k and just get them to name it after his academy. Win win

Reads more to me like the club are being manipulated by the journalist to get a celebrity story, which is depressing.

Of course they’re going to want to get money in at any time by selling advertising, never mind when they’ve not had gate money for five months.

This would make more sense, if comments were taken out of context and framed in a different sense.

Leicester's Jamie Vardy could match Ruud van Nistelrooy's record of five goals in five matches against Newcastle United, having struck four times at West Brom.

Well yes he can, another RN record done

He really is our GOAT, we really should enjoy him more. Not many teams have their GOAT playing in current times.

I wounder if he'll get to 150 goals? Could do it in 2 seasons if he stays fit.

He could easily do it this season.

Started on 130, got to 132 already.

More games this season due to the Europa League as well.

Ahh fair enough. I thought you meant for the club.

I was hoping he can overtake Ernie Hine to go #3 on our all-time top scorers list over the next couple of seasons. Not much chance of him catching the 2 Arthurs though.
