twister Posted 25 January 2020 Posted 25 January 2020 Rodgers is using a lot of this season to decide those under contract are in his plans Gray maybe one of those that is moved on in the summer.
TheCryptoPoet Posted 25 January 2020 Posted 25 January 2020 Seems to be mid table premier club at best. If we're serious about being a top side I suspect we'll look to try and upgrade in the summer.
LestaAl Posted 25 January 2020 Posted 25 January 2020 30 pages on why Demi is such a great player........he should sign a new contract...... perhaps with another club.
justfoxes Posted 25 January 2020 Posted 25 January 2020 It’s disappointing he looked like a real quality prospect shoots when he should pass pass when he should gets quite greedy passes go array, maybe sending the lad out on loan to get regular football may be the answer maybe also should offer him to Hull in part ex for Jarrod Bowen ?
Realjimbo Posted 25 January 2020 Posted 25 January 2020 I think today's performance really told a story, he had the perfect opportunity to impress and his whole performance was dismal, just shows that players develop at certain stages of their career, some continue, others slow, some stop. Unfortunately Grays seems to have stopped. He would do OK at a club like Brighton but he's nowhere near good enough for city now. 1
ealingfox Posted 25 January 2020 Posted 25 January 2020 Needs a fresh start somewhere else. Of course hindsight is 20/20 but it seems crazy that we ever turned down 25m+ for him. Guess we should hope all that wasn't true. Surely some awful club like Stoke would give us 15ish for him? Still a tidy profit for us. Cant see him getting any better than he is now. 1
Angus Scott Posted 25 January 2020 Posted 25 January 2020 Really pleased that Gray played today so that everybody can slag him off. At least it gives Chilwell some respite from the abuse that he has been getting. I really wonder about our "fans" sometimes 1

Fans of other clubs tend to rate him but youtube clips and MOTD highlights are one thing, reality is another, £70 million plus Gray for Zaha perhaps, even though Hodgson won't be able to ask for him in person. Thought today Rodgers could have switched Perez and Gray for a while to try to do something different and give Brentford something different to think about, it might have helped them both and the whole side in that long spell where they were nullifying us. Think Rodgers was more interested in seeing Perez in the central role for a sustained period and he had started well.

Contrary to popular belief you do need a certain level of intelligence to play the game well at the highest level. Wasn't it Gray who nearly walked into a rotor blade getting off the club helicopter during our title winning season? Woeful positional sense. 1 1

These players are very highly paid and that privilege comes with the need to do the job to the best of your ability . If you don't you will be criticised but it should not be "abuse" . Chilwell has been criticised but the vast majority of that has been constructive.

Dan Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 I wouldn't be totally shocked if he was a Bournemouth player this time next week.
CollinsLCFC Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 Gray has been in/around the first team way before the likes of Barnes, Chilwell and Choudhury. All of the he latter have developed and can offer much more to the first team than Gray. Different managers have never seemed to be able to tune him. Season after season, we hope it will be his time where he goes from showing cameo glimpses of excellence to consistenty. Unfortunately, he never delivers and when given an opportunity, it goes to waste. 1

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 (edited) Keeps getting given chances, keeps passing them up. Sell in the summer before his contract runs down. Edited 26 January 2020 by Sol thewall Bamba
J.Lisemore Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 Probably not good enough for where we’re heading, has been a decent player for us at times but I think he needs a fresh start elsewhere. We got him for what £4m? Should think he’d go for double that at least these days

ARM1968 Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 He didn’t cost us a lot. Can do some very good things sometimes. We’re always moaning about squad depth. If we bring in an upgrade on Gray, surely we should keep the guy for rotation and injury? He’s not shit, just weirdly inconsistent. 1
Bablemikey Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 Perfect opportunity yesterday to show he merits a place, but sadly he played like someone who knows his future lies elsewhere.
shailen Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 He does too much in the ball, and is always trying to look for glory himself, and ultimately gives it away or wastes the chance. Needs to make smarter decisions on the ball and he can still be a good player for us.
Farrington fox Posted 26 January 2020 Posted 26 January 2020 Honestly, probably time for him to move on. Glimpses of brilliance but that’s all it ever is.
