Deeg67 Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 I can't believe people are seriously arguing for Vardy to start this match. Insanity. 3

The Titanic should have floated. i am very confident we will win, but they are certainly capable of an upset, nothing is a given in football though. AKCJ Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Ward JJ Morgan Soyuncu Fuchs Albrighton Hamza Tielemans Gray Perez Barnes
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 The one thing that concerns me about these games is that you can go a few goals ahead against lower league sides & they have a tendency to lose there heads & fly into tackles, there’s some players I wouldn’t risk getting injured. Ward Justin Benko Wes Fuchs Hamza Youri Praet Gray Kelechi Albrighton I can’t see BR going with this however for me that side is more than good enough to win by a few goals against Burton.
bfox Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 (edited) Probably like to see Ward, Fuchs, Soyuncu, Wes, JJ, Hamza, Praet, Youri, Marc, Gray, Perez + a solid bench in case this is going tits up Edited 29 October 2019 by bfox edit
KingKoala Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 I would rest Ndidi Maddison and Tielemans all three of our regular midfielders for this one.

Hardly insanity when he’s supposedly the fittest player at the club who retired from international football to focus on his club career. Probably fitter than Iheanacho and Perez put together.
WilmslowFox Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 Hamza has to play, and I'd start Chilwell and Perez to give them a chance to build on the confidence boost of Friday's game. Otherwise don't really mind who plays, but it would be nice to see one or two of the development squad on the bench (e.g. Calvin, Darnell, Kiernan or one of the Georges).

The U23's have a game tonight, I doubt any of them will be involved in the first team.
The People's Hero Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 I get the clamour for Perez up top on his own; but he's started to show some value from wider areas and at some point, I think we'd all like to see Nacho as a real option up front. Got to be worth a try tonight starting Nacho up front (just make sure Vardy is on the bench). Hope we see both Choudhry and Praet start. Would like to see JJ get another start too. U23s play as well though, so lots of players are going to be seeing some sort of action. 3
Nicolo Barella Posted 29 October 2019 Posted 29 October 2019 4-3-1-2? J.J Benkovic Soyuncu Fuchs Praet Hamza Maddison Barnes Perez Iheanacho 4-2-3-1? J.J Benkovic Soyuncu Fuchs Hamza Praet Perez Barnes Albrighton Iheanacho

What if Vardy played tonight and got injured and a s a result, our PL form suffered and we finish 8th at the end of the season? Would it be worth it? I would always have him on the bench as an option for the second half/last 30 mins, but it's games like this where it is perfect for him to have a rest. Fittest player or not, it's about keeping players sharp and injury free as well. 1

I think this is roughly what I would go with but with Cags in for Bemko (he will be playing for U23s) and possibly Perez for Nacho who may not be available due to compassionate leave. We all know how good Hamza and Praet are, Fuchs and Albrighton are not going to let us down and need the minutes. As has been said any of these players could be called on to step into the first team at any time and be expected to do a job. I would almost guarantee that that one or two will get a prolonged run in the side at some point during the season when injuries/suspensions/loss of form etc inevitably rear their ugly heads. What is the point of having a strong squad if you don't use it. If it is not going to plan then we can always bring Vardy, Madders, Barnes, Perez or whoever on from the bench. How would you feel if you were a centre half seeing the likes of that lot warming up on the sidelines 2

You probably have to play at least one of them as who would the MF 3 be? Definitely Choudhury and Praet should play the full 90 and one of the others should start and maybe be subbed if we build up a two goal lead.

Perhaps that was just Claude's vision.
