Rodgers really needs to sort these tactics about vs the top 6.

Drew to Chelsea, on which we should have won and beat spurs and arsenal... lost to two clumsy penos against Man U and Liverpool

We have been outplayed by a team that could rip anybody a new one, get over it.

But it’s happened a lot under Rodgers, very tepid showings in the big games with very similar issues in each one.

We've been far too deep all game, it's been shambolic. Man City are a good team but if you show them as much respect as we have your only going to get punished.

Win all your one on one challenges , don’t misplace your passes and keep running to  make space - easy game if you’ve got players of the quality of sterling and KDB

We haven’t even tried to get the ball off them for 20 minutes.

As a stand-alone performance this has been unacceptable. No effort.

20 mins? more like the whole game lol

Yes.

Our first defeat in months.

Against the Billionaires away.

Sigh.

What's that got to do with the price of cheese?

It's been awful, can I not say that?

I'm not calling for player or the managers heads, but I can surely have the opinion it's been awful, when it has.

There playing 3 Infront at times with a expansive midfield that go forward, how is a back 4 with CDM going to cope.  Tactics is why Brendan is better then Puel, however he Hasnt go this right, he should have played Praet or Hamza instead of Perex

We've effectively played 4-5-1. You seriously think that a sight change of personnel would have meant our players wouldn't give every simple pass away? Lose every 50/50? Get passed off the pitch?

You're living in dreamland.

Including the absolutely woeful second half in the League Cup away at Everton, that's now the third game in a row where we've not been up for it.

And it's Liverpool at home next... Eek.

Something's wrong. Stamina issues? Is Rodgers relying on the same players too often? Success gone to the head?

Struggled with a high quality press again as we did away at Liverpool

And to some degree at home to Norwich. Teams have sussed out that we are vulnerable if pressed when we're trying to play it out.

Time to get real folks, top 6 will be fantastic but top 3 is a pipe dream. Miles away from that which isn't necessarily our fault, great start got folk dreaming.

Don't be a twat.

Liverpool and Man City are a different class.

3rd is for the taking.

Really disappointed - it's ok to say yeah, it's Man City, but that doesn't excuse our utter lack of effort today. Slow and horrible to watch.

People seem surprised that man city are a good side. Which is possibly the weirdest thing of all.

We might be having a decent season, but their best is still vastly superior to our best.

Need to shake it off and remember the fight for top 4 is still firmly on.

Absolutely.

The best team has won. And won convincingly.

End of.

It doesn’t mean we can’t finish top four but the Man City performance tonight oozed class and did so in the blueprint of what we are aiming for. Kinda tough to swallow but they are the better side with the better players which is why our players will want to play for them eventually and why we are beginners in the top four total football world. But if we spend right we might get there.
