Rubbish

Well done for pulling up a quote from 12 months ago pal lol

Reality is at the time he didn't offer much other than the backhanded compliments of "but he works hard". I still maintain i want to see a few more goals & assists from him or whoever plays in that position. He scored his first goal in 2 years the other day. Its not unreasonable to expect more from Albrighton.

But we'll done to him for regaining his form and fighting back into the starting eleven.

Those calling for lads to be rested should look at the appearance table. Based on that, the ones who MUST be rested are JJ & Youri. Plus of course Vards. We've played something like 25 games this season and some of the first team starters (last match) have only appeared in half of them. Obviously Brendan will assess match per match. But basically not all of our  thoroughbreds have been heavily run.

How has he not had a senior cap for England SMH

Big club bias is so frustrating.

There were several players with England caps on the pitch and Albrighton, Premier League champion,  was not one of them.

Reece James has more caps than Albrighton and Barnes put together; if he is good enough for England, it isn't yet.  The most effective English full back on the pitch was uncapped James Justin; although Chilwell did become England's first choice left back while at Leicester.

Am I correct in thinking that Hudson-Odoi, significantly inferior to Albrighton on Tuesday, won caps before starting in the Premier League for Chelsea? Tomori has caps bit isn't good enough for a shaky Chelsea defence.

Elsewhere, Maitland-Niles who probably has no longevity in the Premier League has been capped recently.  I could go on.

Against average opposition, such players will cope and even look reasonable.  Albrighton would thrive; he was excellent v Stoke.  Against better international opposition, Albrighton would give solidity and nous to the team.  He would definitely add something to England"s current set up.  When England squads have been announced recently, the midfield selection has been questionable.

Comparisons between Maddison and Mount are for another thread!

I hope Southgate paid some attention to Albrighton (and James Justin) and didn't just think that Chilwell and James were unfortunate.

Marc Albrighton is our James Milner. Always gives everything. Totally dependable. Team player. So important to the team. And he’s still improving and developing his game. Brilliant. Long may it continue.

I had no idea Albrighton's contract was up next summer! I thought it was 2023. I know hes in his 30's and for a winger that's getting on a bit, but I'd like for him to stay at least an extra year with the attributes he has.

Hes on £45k so it's not as if its breaking the bank for someone with so much experience.

I don't think you can rest Youri, there is no replacement JJ and just about everyone in the team can be replaced with quality, i'd play Youri and Barnes for 45/60 mins although I guess he could also be brought on at HT.

Don't wanna be negative after such a win but Albrighton must have had pass completion around the 20% mark..

He was awful today but considering he has been consistent all season I will let him off.

Am I dreaming it or was Ünder being readied for him around 50 min mark and then we got a few pockets of space and we decided against it? Albrighton was really poor, as he usually is vs Liverpool. Needs to raise his game as we need him.

He seemed to be. I thought it was more to do with Evans injury- he'd move Amartey to CB, Albrighton to RB with Under ahead of him. Evans seemed ok in the end.

Very poor, kept trying to play killer balls to Vardy, but only ending up passing to Liverpool. We had to absorb so much pressure because of it. Went through a magic spell after New Year, looks all over the place since.
