.... not sure if I can agree with  that comment!!!

Michael Owen in his prime would not be sitting on our bench waiting for Vardy to retire or get the odd game.

He would have been perfect for the role, although Owen wasn’t a natural finisher, I’m sure he could have learned a lot by watching Vardy, and would have been able to step up to the first team when required. Maybe could have played all the League Cup games.

How is there "no debate"?  JJ has been arguably been our best player this season and Ricardo has been class since he joined!

There is room for debate as Justin has done so well.  However, if Perreira is fit he has to play; he is one of our players of the highest calibre.  When N'didi became fit again, he had to play.

Hopefully, Rodgers can find a way of keeping Castagne, Justin and Thomas happy.

Expecting an overlapping full back to become a winger or right sided midfielder isn’t a+b = c

1) it may not work for the player  - Ricky often comes onto the ball running from deep - it’s not the same higher up the pitch (especially facing teams employing a low block)

2) the player may not want to do it (hence won’t stay )

Not sure how you fit potentially 5 postponed games into a very short season.

It doesn't need to go on hold anyway unless clubs suddenly can't prevent their staff and players catching covid. I'm yet to hear one valid reason for pausing the PL season, it's bizarre.

Ricardo not starting if he's healthy is not the remotest possibility, hence "no debate".  Apart from around here at least.  JJ has improved to be sure. but the notion of Ricardo not starting - if he's fully fit - is not even on the table.

It's clearly a debate, that's why we are debating it.

I fully understand your point. Except to say that Ricardo actually started his career as a right Winger and moved back to play full back.

They are both very comfortable on the Ball so it shouldn't be a problem for either of them to play further up the pitch.
