That Maddison second was almost an exact replica of Mahrez' goal (albeit at the opposite end) against Spurs in the title winning season. Truly a thing of beauty.

@baldeagle Don’t laugh mate. We have been through plenty of games this season where we are chasing and we play exactly like how we played in the last 15 mins of this game. You will then be complaining about why we don’t seem to believe in ourselves to chase for the win anymore.

The biggest take from that is maybe the penny has dropped for him about the 5 at the back. Superb for the end of the first half and sailed through the second. We can be good when we want to be.

Personnel wise I was proven wrong. Maddison was brilliant.

Formation wise I was proven right. We looked awful first 20, we swapped to 4 at the back and from then on we didn't look back. 

Credit where it's due, Rodgers was humble enough to recognise it wasn't working and switched it up before it was too late, which was refreshing to see.

ps. Shearer is a really good co-commentator. Sensible with good insight. Such a breath of fresh air compared to guys like Carragher.

Funny that Madders was getting bricks a week ago now he's the dogs. A week is a long time in this game for sure. Let's enjoy it for now, but a really good performance; and clinicality, intensity and magicalitee for sure.
