Crystal Palace 1-1 LCFC - Post Match Thread

Recommended Posts

4 players needed to stay competitive in January.

Some of these results against some of the shite teams we have played is ****ing questionable.

Threw away 3 points today should of started our strongest side and made changes to rest them at half time.

In amongst all the overreaction, I’m gonna shine a light. Great reaction from going a goal down when fielding a more inferior side. We now have plenty of recovery time before the Newcastle game. Could be better but could be much worse. We roll on.

Mark Lawrenson called it. Disappointing and maybe the first time that our squad players let us down a bit. Amartey completing 90 mins and being decent was a big plus. Barnes, Justin and Thomas all with good performances. Kelechi, Hamza, Gray, Perez all showing they should not be starting.

Poor second half and thankful Barnes stepped up again. At least we didn't throw in another limp defeat. Some players seemed to do ok, others not. On the radio commentary, it seemed Amartey, Mendy and Perez did well, Gray and Iheanacho not.

On a wider note, I really hope there is a change next year to the Christmas to New Year schedule. We shouldn't be playing twice in 49 hours, it was twice in 45 hours last year. There should be a minimum three days between matches. You really are in the lap of the TV Gods at this time, more than usual, which isn't right.

Brenda made too many changes

It was clear we started playing after the introduction of Tielemans and Vardy and we’d have gone on to win the game if there’d have been another ten minutes

Nacho was utter garbage, defensively we were all over the place for their goal and Praet/Perez went missing im afraid

Pleased to get a point having been one down, but they were there for the taking

That line up works if we have a viable second striker. The whole set up would have worked fine had the obvious chances been put away. It gave Palace the impetuous to get back in the game and we always have a wobble when we concede.

I think Under would have come on if he had been fit. We do need a suitable second striker in the January window. Just the question is who is available?

2 minutes ago, Izzy said:

We won’t face a worse team than Palace all season. Massive wasted opportunity that.

We've played half a dozen sides that bad in 2020. And got f all from them!

I actually dread games against relegation fodder these days.
