Honestly, I have a soft spot for anyone whose laugh is so genuine it goes through their whole body. Really wholesome and endearing. 7
Jimmy Posted 24 March 2021 Posted 24 March 2021 the Monday Night club is one of the better shows around, they get the balance between being informative and entertaining just about right 1
StanSP Posted 25 March 2021 Posted 25 March 2021 Ndidi in the team of the season so far. Not bad considering he missed 2-3 months of it! 1

Koke Posted 28 March 2021 Posted 28 March 2021 This has nothing to do with us in particular but I love that clubs like Forest harp back to ways of "propa football", before it was ruined by the Premier League with their excellent pitches, world class foreign coaches and players etc. When you've been shit for decades of course you're gonna hate football in the 21st century. https://www.forestforum.co.uk/threads/49448-Proper-Football-in-the-70s-and-80s-before-those-W***ers-at-Sky-killed-it

They just can't let go of their glory period. Progression, evolution and change are alien concepts for people that don't realise the turn of the millennium was over 20 years ago. 3

Bit of coincidence then that modern football happens to take place with them also being crap. 1

With the very odd exception, an increase in the quality of football usually means means a greater means of monetising things which means an increase in the sanitation in equal measure of the matchday experience.

Popular Post Grebfromgrebland Posted 28 March 2021 Popular Post Posted 28 March 2021 I like modern football. It means I can go to the match without fear of getting beat up or racially abused. I can also take my wife and kids and feel safe. When I was younger people would wonder if I would make it back from a match in one piece, but they were melodramatic family members... 5
Webbo Posted 28 March 2021 Posted 28 March 2021 (edited) We had a lot of the "no to modern football" types when I first joined the forum, mind you we were sh1t then too. Edited 28 March 2021 by Webbo 1 1
Sir Shep Posted 28 March 2021 Posted 28 March 2021 To be fair when we talk about Forest harping on about the good old days, I think I’ll still be rubbing myself silly 30 years from now harping on about how good we are at the moment! 1
Popular Post Guest Posted 28 March 2021 Popular Post Posted 28 March 2021 I suppose it depends on what it is exactly about modern football you don't like. If it's the massive wealth inequality and rampant cheating then yeah, you're probably quite justified in being against modern football. If what you don't like about it is all these bloody foreigners and all these bloody women and the fact that players don't smoke fifty a day any more then you're probably just a bit of a tool and maybe the problem is you, not football. 5

People miss the drinking and smoking in stadiums as well as standing. But overall modern football is far better than 70s & 80s football. Less fighting, less racism, more women, better football on the pitch etc.
