I’m saying just because Pereira scored 9 for wba it doesn’t mean he’ll necessarily do the same here. If we give him the exact same setup, he might, but, as we saw with Perez, it’s not a given.

Ayoze played alongside the very powerful Rondon at Newcastle and we had nobody anywhere near his physical presence. Perez is a lightweight he needs a strong player to play off.
fuchsntf Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 21/22 Perez breaks the new Signing Hearts by starting a Scoring Streak of 13 goals in 9 games for the foxes...

Definitely more of a fox in the boxthese days, only goal last season season was probably Sheff U away. Gone are the days he could out pace someone from the halfway line. lgfualol Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 Loan with first option to buy would make a lot of sense. Gerrit done before we are struggling to create again.

Fans are intentionally forgetting how good Maddison is because of his covid beach and showy personality. It’s increasingly tiresome. ...you just wonder if we picked up Pereira or Ziyech and chose to play 4-3-3 then Maddison would not be a factor!!! It is not inconceivable that we will predominantly play that formation, therefore the need for a #10 is redundant. Either Pereira or Ziyech could play the position, should we need to change mid game, and we would not miss Maddison with the strength we have in the midfield and the threat we have going forward.

Dan Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 Saw a few pages on this thread and was really hoping to read some arguments about use of language, dreading the possibility there'd be any transfer news. As usual, it didn't disappoint. 2

As usual, it didn't disappoint. No real news of course but the logic of Pereira has now been much discussed and he seems the most plausible answer to our wide right attacking vacancy. He plays for a midland club , so little disruption for him ,is definitely available at the right price , a solid PL season behind him, versatile, as he can play centrally , strong on the ball and pacey enough and by no means one footed which is unusual in a lefty and crucially he has a brain. He would expect a good salary but nowhere near as much as say Ziyech. I am sure Rodgers knows all this so he needs to be using his Irish charm(sic) on the financial people.

The People's Hero Posted 22 July 2021 Posted 22 July 2021 Who's manning the ANPR to see if a flash car makes its way from West Bromwich to Leicestershire?

moore_94 Posted 23 July 2021 Posted 23 July 2021 (edited) West Brom may be willing to loan him out if he isn’t sold, want £25m+ for him https://theathletic.com/2722395/2021/07/22/pereira-frozen-out-bonucci-ball-and-promoting-academy-players-inside-valerian-ismaels-first-month-at-west-brom/?source=user_shared_article Edited 23 July 2021 by moore_94 2 1
Pliskin Posted 23 July 2021 Posted 23 July 2021 He would offer a nice balance to the side. We don’t really need raw pace down the right as we have Riccy P, Castagne and potentially Justin when he returns. So having a more technical player will offer yet another dimension to our game. I’m up for this as a signing, could be a really interesting addition. 3
Happy Fox Posted 23 July 2021 Posted 23 July 2021 I don’t think he is worth it personally, much rather we sign a proven Right Winger or a young player with potential. 1

A player who can press his opponent on the right (more convincingly than Ayoze) would be a good option too. The more I look at MPs stats, the more I'm convinced he'd be a great addition. He's 25, so hardly old and still room to develop. Chances are we don't have the funds to sign a proven RW without selling and young player with potential could leave us with Perez there again. Pereira has shown he can perform in the Prem in a poor WBA squad, and for a loan it's worth a punt.
Lesta2014 Posted 23 July 2021 Posted 23 July 2021 From a YouTube I watched yesterday he popped up all the way across the front 3 behind the striker. Yes we want a right winger first and foremost but being comfortable anywhere across that 3 is good, I wouldn’t say Barnes or Maddison are as flexible. Gives us more options. Get it done please. The link of willing to loan makes me think that’s why we are now after him, only concern is he smashes it West Brom come back up and he costs a fortune next summer as they want him in the squad.

I suspect we'll agree a fee for him that we have to pay if he makes a certain number of appearances. Not sure we'll be able to agree something like the Under deal where we had all the flexibility and weren't locked into buying him permanently. Edited 23 July 2021 by lcfc_forever
