From a YouTube I watched yesterday he popped up all the way across the front 3 behind the striker. Yes we want a right winger first and foremost but being comfortable anywhere across that 3 is good, I wouldn’t say Barnes or Maddison are as flexible. Gives us more options. Get it done please.

The link of willing to loan makes me think that’s why we are now after him, only concern is he smashes it West Brom come back up and he costs a fortune next summer as they want him in the squad.

...very much a risk, I would do the deal now!!!

He really brings so much to the club, this is just such an obvious purchase.

He's far better than Silva, Slimani, Musa etc.

I think Slimani in fairness was a very decent and proven player both before he came here and when he went out on loan but ... he was a definite number 9 and didn't fit our system at the time and we had Vardy for the role.

Musa hopeless.

Silva, too slow. Like Perez arguably too feeble. Too old to or couldn't adapt.

Perez has now been tried in a number of roles but he's poor in all of them. He merely makes the numbers up and hopefully this season with incomings he won't even make the bench because if he's brought on as a sub, with the crowds back, the sighs could be deafening 🤣🤣

You know this how?

I read a interview of his where he said he wants to go back and play in Spain one day.

He had offers from Spainish clubs before he joined us but we paid his more.

Wanting to go back to Spain 'one day' does not equate to 'he's keen on moving back to Spain'.

He gets a free in two years so no doubt he will go back then. Las Palmas would suit him, quick trip on the ferry from Tenerife and his family. He will have opened his new restaurant by then with the millions we will have paid him..

Do you still think this is the 80s, you'll have Vardy owning a pub and Evan being the local post master.

Owning a pub in Rotherham and having a restaurant in Tenerife are entirely different things.

I think M. Pereira is the low risk option, he has performed in the Premier League, producing decent stats. He is not too old, so will have some sell-on value and the price being asked, allegedly, is not unreasonable given his stats.

That being said, my preference is still Madueke. He is a higher risk option being unproven, but with greater potential given his age. I just feel this is more of a Leicester signing.

This is my thoughts too. Madueke would be the dream, I'm intrigued by Adli and Bailey would cost too much IMO. Pereira would be our first Brazilian and is a proper creative type playmaker of a winger with strong defensive stats too, really ought to be our standout choice and very attainable.

What I like about him is he isn’t all raw pace. We’ve got plenty of that on the side, he would offer us a completely different option, more of a Mahrez type of player. His delivery is key, he plays a lot of dangerous balls, In swingers from open play, which are a bastard to defend, and a joy for poachers like Kelch.

The more I think about this signing the more it makes sense.

People talking about pace, Mahrez is our greatest ever right winger, hardly renowned for his speed.

I think Pereira would be a good, low risk, high reward signing and would also be our first Brazilian :scarf:

Be nice to have a Brazilian in the squad as well. a nationality that we haven’t seen the best of at the King Power, as good as Junior Lewis may have been.

My only concern would be having too many 'first team' players! We already have 25 players who will all want to play more than they miss... challenge will be keeping players happy.

I've listed the players by my perception of quality for each position... insane how much depth we have now.

2 GKs: Schmeichel, Ward

5 FBs: Ricardo, Justin, Castagne, Bertrand, Thomas

4 CBs: Fofana, Evans, Soyuncu, Amartey

7 CMs: Ndidi, Tielemans, Soumare, Praet, KdH, Mendy, Hamza

4 AMs: Barnes, Maddison, Perez, Albrighton,

3 FWs: Vardy, Daka, Nacho

The balance does suggest a new CB and AM could be needed, at the expense of some CMs we seem to be stockpiling.

I think we need to move Praet and Choudhury on before bringing in any more Prem first team level players. I like both, but they'll hardly play!
