Pure arrogance from you to think you know better than Rodgers, Congleton and Rudkin.

It’s congerton I think (and it’s not arrogant to think you know better then him !).  However, we should readily accept what our scouting network flags up !

Another signing  for the bench. Bench is looking strong though.

Can't say I ever paid much attention to Fulham or any of their players.   Where would you say this guy ranks on our list of linked RWers?

1.Beradi

2.Madueke

3.Neres

4.Perreira

5.McNeil

6.James

7.Adli

I think that is all of them?

I didn’t claim I knew better than him.

I just believe that the scouting team almost certainly know better than anyone on here. Of course they’ll make mistakes but in the main they have a better idea of what we need and which player will fit in.

Decent enough player as backup to Harvey but we still light on the right as much as Brendan would like them to be Perez kells and Ricardo ain’t right sided attacking midfielder

Berardi

Neres/Madueke

Periera

Lookman

McNeil

James

Adli I know nothing about.

We are signing a backup for Barnes on the left, a bench player if we are thinking about our best XI. Our bench is getting really strong though tbh, the best I can remember it being.

Also, note that he is a left winger and not a right winger, although he can fill in their if he needs to. He won’t be replacing Perez though.

Given Dan James was probably being looked at for this same role on the left, pushing Barnes’ place, I much prefer Lookman tbh.

I just hope we get another wide player in as well as him (good enough to be 1st choice on the right), but it seems very, very unlikely now

He is young and british with a point to prove, but his stats really can't excite anyone.

Kind of funny if we end up with Lookman after Everton ended up with Gray. Especially if they both suddenly perform consistenly.

To be fair as others are speculating, this seems like cover / depth for Harvey Barnes rather than specifically for the right hand side. Given we play a lop sided 4231, our right sided forward drifts in field to make space for the full back outside of them to provide the overlap and creativity. In that position we can play Ricardo, Castagne, Justin when he is back, possibly even Daley-Campbell if he comes good.

So that means we want pace on the other side, and when Barnes was out of the team we faltered. Or look at the Norwich game... what do we do if he's having an off day?

Don't get me wrong, just like everyone else on here, I would have prioritised a class RW as one of our number 1 signings of the summer. But the fact that we had deals for Daka / Soumare / Bertrand wrapped up so early and waited so long for this one means that this season at least, we didn't feel that way. And I suppose I get the logic, the last two seasons we missed out because of squad depth not because of first team quality.

At least now in the squad we have 2 players that can play LW (well technically 3 given Sharky played there many times including during the title winning season!) and 2 players that can play the other side.

Such a weird comment

I was referring to what I think in my opinion is arrogance from Rodgers, to not replace a right winger who he has purchased. I think his arrogance can lead to stubbornness that is detrimental to the team. I understand Lookman is ok backup on the left but we all know that we need a RW. We need backup on left but the right for me the right needs addressing more in our starting XI. if You think otherwise then I’m fine with it. No need to respond with another non productive comment pal.
