Anyone can miss a penalty, that’s not the issue.
 

The issue is he missed a penalty after approaching the spot like the old boy at the local boozer approaches the bar after 10 pints: He’s unfit for the task, and he’s been stinking out the place for far too long.

 

Squad player or not, we need to be aiming higher than this. Awful signing so far. I hope he proves me wrong.

He's so shit I don't know where to start. The penalty is indicative of his attitude. He just ambled up and passed it to their GK, no energy or desire. Why Rodgers trusts him and played him is beyond me.

The reason I and so many other fans hate him is it's a horrible reminder and throw back to those days.

 

Signing Bertrand goes against everything we have stood for as a club over the last decade plus.

 

It's the sort of signing we'd like fun at the likes of Everton for. What on earth were we thinking? Man would struggle in the league below!!!

To me it looks like a physical and mental thing. His legs have gone (and was told this by Soton supporting mates) and therefore I think his head has as well. BR has mentioned that training has to lack intensity and it’s mostly about recovery (given fixture congestion) - and I wonder if that’s a problem for a lot of our players at the moment.

 

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do with a full pre season  next year - but he’s looked a shadow of what I’ve seen of him elsewhere.
