Just been to see Captain Marvel. It's good but not quite up there with the rest of the Marvel catalogue. The back story is a little confusing at first, and they don't really explore or explain her powers enough.

Caught the last hour or so of The Departed last night, and what a bloody good film it is as well, DiCaprio, Damon, Nicholson, Wahlberg, Sheen all on scintillating form.

Captain Marvel.  I enjoyed it.  Not quite sure what the online brigade is against tbf.  It's pretty standard Marvel, you know what you're going to get and it's fun while it lasts.

Throwback to the 90s was great, some decent tunes in there.  Now, where's my Garbage CD?  lol

Women apparently interfering in "their" interest area.

That's it for at least many if not most of them, anyhow.

Watched the first two installments of the new Star Trek movies for the first time over the course of the weekend, and I thought the first movie to be slightly better.

They do manage to capture the essence of the original series, and Chris Pike does a great William Shatner as Captain Kirk, there's definitely resemblance there.

Although in the version I watched on Netflix, there were a couple of odd cuts, especially with regards to the Spock/Uhura side story. Things just seemingly were omitted for some reason.

Zoe Saldana... Oh my.

Unfortunately, plans for a fourth movie are out of the question as both Pine and Hemsworth pulled out of negotiations some time towards the back end of last year.

Shame, I quite liked Beyond.

Enjoyed it too. Seems some blokes feel threatened by women. Thought it was one of the better MCU films myself.

After watching Captain Marvel (which I really liked) I am getting the Marvel bug again. I then realized I actually seen any of the Captain America films.

Ive now watched the first 2 and will be moving onto Civil War either today or tomorrow. Then that only leaves Doctor Strange as the only Marvel film ive not seen. Is that worth a watch?

Its ok, its not one of the best imo but it is watchable. 6/10 from me. I preferred the Captain America films.

Sorry if that doesnt really help.

More to do with her half arsed attempt at looking all right on and inclusive, rather than pushing her thoughts on wanting more women and POC in the film reviewing industry, it turned into a bit of slagging off of "middle aged white dudes" opinions on films.

Free Solo - Terrifying to be honest, why anyone would want to climb without ropes just doesn't compute with me. The guy is clearly on the spectrum, so that probably explains his total lack of emotion around it. My palms were sweating just watching him do it, fascinating to see. I just wish there was more footage of him on the free solo climb, it's really only limited to 10 - 20 minutes at the end, the rest is about the build up and the prep and him in general. Still enjoyed it though.

There's a ping pong bar in Amsterdam? Cool. Where is it?

The one in Paris is gaining popularity..... http://gossima.fr/

I found it quite disturbing just watching the 2-minute trailer for that film. :D

Enjoyed Captain Marvel. Quite possibly my favourite Stan Lee cameo ever. Apparently they filmed quite a few in advance before he died so hopefully they’ll keep doing them until they run out. Loved the tribute in the opening but too.

I watched that new Triple Frontier film on Netflix with Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam etc. last night.

Bang average really. Just didn't have the 'wow' factor for me. 5/10

Same here, the concept was a good idea but was a bit crap after the main part.

Watched Get Out on Friday on Netflix absolutely brilliant film definitely recommend.

88/100

Thought it was good too, build up was better than how it was wrapped up.

Started ok and seemed like it had some potential, but it never really took off.
