Gray - considering future

Gray reminds me a bit of Ronaldo around the same age.

** I'm in no way saying he's as good as Ronaldo, just to get that out of the way

His style of play is similar and he's ability to continually make the wrong decision is exactly the same.  If or when he learns to pick his head up and look at his team mates he will be a great asset to most teams, the question is will he learn to do that.

His selfish nature on the ball and his self belief will turn into his biggest weapon in time, if he learns when to switch that on and off

There are a sizeable proportion of Leicester fans who will never take a winger to their hearts unless they try and play like a full back.

Cannot bevel the amount of people seemingly booting Gray out the door for a £20m offer.

I predict a lot of people looking fairly silly at the end of the season when it comes to Gray. He is clearly one of the most talented English players under 21 who will have a chance this season to show what he's made of. Yes he needs to mature and fine tune his game, the bloke is 21 for christ sake. Give the guy a chance to develop and become the player he's shown glimpses of.

The trouble for me is he's approaching an age now, although he's still very young, when potential will have to turn into ability.  He has the potential to be a great player, our main problem is do we have enough players around him to allow him to grow into a match, or a run of matches for that matter?

It's dangerous for us to give him chances if he's not producing an end product because he will be carrying a lot of weight on his shoulders, especially if Mahrez leaves, as he will be 1 of our main threats.

This season is going to make or break him I feel

He'll be a top end PL player.

I'm always amazed how underrated he is on here, the lad has barely started shaving and has all the attributes of a top player with talent to burn.

£30m before we even start talking, you have to consider, who do we find as a replacement with his potential for less then £30m?

Nail on the head , 20 million doesn't get much these days . Take that Leed's striker for instance !

Jesus christ, sentences like this coupled with Stowell saying he'd be happy if we only create a couple of chances a game does not make me look forward to the kind of football these guys are hoping we dish up.

Crazy idea but how about trying to create things and score before the opposition take the lead?

I honestly think you are reading waaaaaayyyyyy to much into that comment

I'd like to think so haha. There's so many overly cautious, boring and pointless coaches/managers out there sending teams out not to concede. I'd really love for that not to be us.

A lot of it is his youth and he probably feels he has to do something spectacular to prove a point every time he is on the pitch.

He doesn't necessarily need a prolonged run in the side but he needs far more minutes than he has been getting and be encouraged to make the percentage plays rather than the glory grabbing spectacular stuff. His game will really come together at some point and I only hope it's with us and not some other club.

Completely agree.  It's just I sense something about him that makes me feel he has the tendency to "sulk"

He could see encouragement as someone having a go at him.  I've never met the kid so I'm not going to tear his personality apart, but I just think he has a big head and it's his own self belief that is holding him back at the moment.  Only he can get a grip on that.  As I said before, that self belief will become one of his best assets in time, but he needs to learn when to and when not to back himself.

One thing is for sure, right now he has the potential to be a very good player at least.  But soon he'll be at a cross roads in his career, one takes him down the "Ronaldo" path the other leads to Jermaine Pennant

I genuinely can't believe people are debating letting him go for £20m, he could be worth so much more after just a bit of playing time. Not to mention how much is it going to cost us to replace Mahrez & Gray? Not worth our while and most certainly this lad should be given his opportunity this season.

If he actually looked up occasionally and passed to a team mate in a better position he might be worth trying in the TEAM a bit more often

He gets a short cameo to make an impact and impress, he just needs a run of games. That pass he did for Drinkwater against Seville was class.

It's his attitude I don't like, nothing to do with his playing ability.

So far he is nothing but just huge ego.guy  thinks he is world class, nowhere near random club starter

i know he has "talent" and i knew a lot who had one,but now are doing nothing at least in football world

I don't think we're getting the best out of him playing wide in a 4-4-2. I'd like to see him on the right in a 4-2-3-1 alongside Kelechi with Albrighton on the left or Mahrez behind Vardy.

And by the way, if our players end up being cherry picked by tinpot Bournemouth it's time to pack it in.

Isn't is absolutely fvcking stupid that clubs will offer £20m for a player that played like 10 times for us last season just because they have a bit of "potential" and they're English. But clubs won't go anywhere near Mahrez's valuation of £50m. Despite him being a proven PL performer.

Needs to start passing and being less of a greedy cnut all the time, ego & attitude has always been his down fall time to shape up or ship out.
