ronnup Posted 4 May 2018 Posted 4 May 2018 In a heart beat. Especially if we make money on the deal. 1

He's simply wasted at Chelsea and still only 28, his best years just ahead of him. I've liked this comment because I agree he could resurrect his career and I also agree he's got best years ahead of him. In complete contradiction to that, I voted no through as I just dont think returning to clubs works - expectations are to high etc etc

In complete contradiction to that, I voted no through as I just dont think returning to clubs works - expectations are to high etc etc Drinkwater was awful for us from about Nov 2016, rumours of him carrying a hip flexor injury that he couldn't shake fully and made his movement limited. He's been constantly injured since then with other injuries which looks like he might be trying to protect his hip flexor and puts more stress on other body parts to overcompensate. He's been out injured 8 times in just over a year. https://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/players/4242/danny_drinkwater_injury.html He'll cost £30m apparently. I can't believe people would have him back at that price considering his form and injury record in the last 18 months and his long term injury worries. There are other players out there you know. 12
SecretPro Posted 14 May 2018 Posted 14 May 2018 ****ed us off on deadline day knowing full well that he wasn't Chelsea's first choice so he could cash in? Nah, you've made your bed pal.
Stevosevic Posted 14 May 2018 Posted 14 May 2018 One of our best sales. It was the right time and a great fee. He's consistently injured now which we saw the start of with us
NewquayFox Posted 14 May 2018 Posted 14 May 2018 Couldn’t see him taking Ndidi or Silva’s place then you add Iborra & Choudary as well so I don’t see it happening, let himself down by jumping ship the way he did, I think he has definitely struggled with injury for 18 months as well...
Popular Post Rogstanley Posted 14 May 2018 Popular Post Posted 14 May 2018 We’ve had Chelsea’s pants down here let’s be honest. 1-1 after they robbed us of Ngolo I suppose. 6
mozartfox Posted 14 May 2018 Posted 14 May 2018 One of the few things Rudders has actually got correct.
gurru991 Posted 14 May 2018 Posted 14 May 2018 No Thanks. We need to move forward & DD would be a move backwards. We got great money for him & he seems to have a few injury problems now.

UPinCarolina Posted 15 May 2018 Posted 15 May 2018 We're not trying to get the band back together, and quite frankly - I'm not sure what DD expected would happen at Chelsea.

I often give him a lot of stick but let's be honest, although we have missed out on opportunities to sign players we needed at crucial times, his record has been pretty decent. Helped develop Andy King. Brought in: Iheanacho, Silva, Iborra, Maguire, Fuchs, Albrighton, Gray, Ndidi, Dragovic, Ulloa (crucial to our survival season) Cambiasso, Attracted players like Kapustka and Kramaric when they could have gone to bigger clubs. Sure there's been some musas on the way but all in all we do have the makings of very capable team mixed with old and young.

When do people start to point the finger at Macia? For what? He's Head of Senior Player Recruitment. Doesn't deal with outgoing players. He's effectively performing the role that Walsh did for us. Can't say he's done much wrong so far, brought in or identified Maguire, Iheanacho, Iborra, Silva and Diabate. Edited 15 May 2018 by Beechey
Nod.E Posted 15 May 2018 Posted 15 May 2018 Couldn't believe our luck when Chelsea took him off our hands. A hoofball merchant made to look good by having Kanté next to him and Vardy making his lumps upfield look effective. I'm not exaggerating by saying he was our worst (regular) player last season. By a long shot, too. I voted 'no', if it wasn't obvious already.
v6rat Posted 15 May 2018 Posted 15 May 2018 No, he's got a fat arse from sitting on the bench to much at Chelsea
Clever Fox Posted 15 May 2018 Posted 15 May 2018 Never thought he was good enough for Chelsea and so it's proved. No I wouldn't take him back either. Time to move on.
