Tielemans

Pure quality and class, this guy.

Reads the game so well, anticipates play, comes deep to collect the ball, makes intelligent decisions, good passer of the ball, eye for goal.

He's everything that we needed and just at the right time. Gives us another option when attacking and something else for opposition to think about, not just Vardy and Maddison centrally.

Really do like the way he plays. He's settled straight in to the squad and the effect he has on Maddison is encouraging too - takes some weight off Maddison's shoulders in being a creative player. And linked to above, its another attacking player for defenders/midfielders to mark/track.

2 assists and 1 goal in 4 games. Good return and exactly what we needed. Hope we get him permanently.

Pray that Monaco stay up and that they’re enamored enough with Silva that we can work something out.

Surely if they went down they’d be more resigned to losing him, a player of his quality isn’t going to languish in the 2nd tier!

But if they did Silva won’t go there and I think that’s the part of the deal we need to afford the huge asking price.

Absolute quality, the player the team has needed for a long time. The game seems so much quicker when he's involved.

40 million in todays market for a player of his quality which we are crying out for is absolute peanuts, its a no brainer to shell out the money

We need to spunk £40m on him. Simple. If we want to break into the Euro places, we need to buy. I think the chairman would back BR in this, especially if he continues in this vein and he sees his worth.

He looks like he's really enjoying it here.

We need to make him an offer he can't refuse.

Different kind of gravy, hard to compare a winger in the shape of Mahrez with a central midfielder such as Tielemans.

They occupy different positions on the pitch, and with those come different prerequisites. Tielemans isn't your typical flair player who can beat opposing players with dribbling skills, his strength is his vision, his passing and the fact that he can shoot from distance with either foot.

What you can say though is that he is a player that can make the difference on the pitch if need be.

And to think he's still only 21 years old. Sign him on a permanent in the summer. :fc:

Exactly what I'm thinking, the someone with the moment of magic to win you a game and that person that you can look at and think "It's alright he will sort it"

He is really starting to feel like that player

I’d be interested in why he has only been a peripheral figure for Monaco this season . You surely want a £40 mill player out on the pitch, what caused the problems with his manager and what are the chances of a recurrence here ?

Can we do a player plus cash deal, they can have King, James, Silva, Slim, and 35 million for him ?

Did some reading when we got him and it seems that Thierry when in charge tried to mold the team around Tiellmans and older heads at Monaco didn't like it, problems occurred they started to slip down the table, a lot of pressure went on Tiellmans. TH gets sacked by Monaco the rest is history. In a nutshell.

is he left or right footed? watched him play like 4 games in a row and i’m still not sure tbh

Can we throw in Iheanacho as well?

YT only plays 70 minutes its part of the loan deal .

In previous games I felt like his energy levels dropped around this point in the game, a bit like Maddison. But today he still looked one of our better players going forwards when taken off. Still credit to the manager, his changes got our mojo back, we went onto win and all of the subs I felt made a positive impact.

To add to this the French style of football is slower and more technical as we saw with Puel. Tielemans to me seems better suited to a more physical and fast paced league like ours than theirs. Monaco now play Adrien Silva and Fabregas as their double pivot and have improved significantly. Both players struggled to get to grips with the pace here (for Fabregas this is obviously only in recent times) but are well suited for a slower paced technical game. So I think one reason Jardim doesn’t like him is that in top of falling out with one another is that Tielemans plays a different style.

Your point is very valid but I think you very quickly need to edit the part where you’ve mentioned Fabregas struggling with the pace over here lollol

Fabregas did struggle with the pace in recent seasons. Sure up until the last time Chelsea won the league he was a rolls royce of a player, but ask any Chelsea fan now what they think - his engine has long since gone!
