FoxinNotts Posted 20 February 2020 Posted 20 February 2020 Why don’t we try Ricardo as the holding midfielder. He’s great at interceptions, and loves a tackle. Put Justin at right (wing) back and Robert is your fathers brother!

AKCJ Posted 20 February 2020 Posted 20 February 2020 Anyone put any lyrics together for this? BYE BYE GUARDIOLA
Ashley Posted 20 February 2020 Posted 20 February 2020 No doubt them entitled twats will start the you stabbed him in the back again. Ditto the **** back with Manchini and Pelligrini. They weren't even famous 10 years ago let alone being called "City".

I’d like to see the boy get a chance in the U23 set up ... maybe now that youngster James has stepped up the the first team squad there will be a space !

You do realise that specialist positions require some experience ?? 9 times out of 10, just sticking someone in a foreign position simply doesn’t work ... we could get lucky or it could be a train crash !!
dynamark Posted 20 February 2020 Posted 20 February 2020 Big game for Dennis P for me and Fuchs for Chilwell.straight swap. Son has got us tickets good lad .Make some noise
WigstonWanderer Posted 20 February 2020 Posted 20 February 2020 Can’t see him brining James back for this match as a starter. Surely he’ll need a couple of appearances off the bench at least.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 20 February 2020 Posted 20 February 2020 I think we'll be lucky if we lose by just 1 goal. They absolutely panned us last time out and it looks like we'll have to play an experimental team and maybe formation. Part of the issue is that without Wilf we lack strength and height in the middle of the park. Praet has to play the game of his life if we're to get anything.
Stadt Posted 20 February 2020 Posted 20 February 2020 Drinkwater who has played more football than James has over the last few years prolapsed against Man City in his first game in a while, James would be even worse. We actually put in quite a pragmatic performance under Rodgers against them in April 2019 and we've not really seen that since. However, I would rather lose by two or three and actually go for it than sit back and lose anyway. Soaking up pressure isn't a strength of ours anymore.

The thing is against Man City and Liverpool we have neither sat back or dominated possession so it was easy for them to play against us. We aren't going to see as much of the ball so we are best to play a bit more direct and fast counter.

I get that, we can't try and dominate them with the ball but I'd prefer a midblock to stop us from getting hemmed in and them passing us to death until there's an opening. If we sit too deep all game we'll lose, they're rubbish against Liverpool because the press them so hard which is what I think we should be doing

shailen Posted 21 February 2020 Posted 21 February 2020 Look we are foolish to think we can outplay them over 90 mins. Based on pure football ability and if we went toe to toe with them, they win 9 times out of ten. We were naive in the first game to try playing that way and made it very easy for them. This time around I'd like to see De Bruyne man marked and us to be more compact and cut off the spaces. I'd like to see Barnes and Vardy up front as we will need that pace in behind and directness that both of them can offer, which means a 5-3-2 with our ball players in Praet, Maddison and Tielemans in midfield. I'd have either Fuchs or Bennett in as a LCB or RCB.
Gamble92 Posted 21 February 2020 Posted 21 February 2020 The only real complaint we can have about Rodgers spell so far is the games against the clubs with the biggest reputations. He just hasnt got it right, and we have been woeful. A common theme for this Leicester side for as long as i can remember is when we are good we are unbelievably good and when we are bad we are unbelievably bad. Im concerned about Ndidi and Choudary missing. Its going to need a big make shift performance from someone to stop this being an easy ride for Man City in the midfield again. I think we'll see a much better performance than the other games against the top sides, but I'm not confident about getting anything.
Billy Big Balls Posted 21 February 2020 Posted 21 February 2020 Please don't be stubborn Brendan! If we play them at their own game we lose. Wolves have beaten them twice this season sitting back with a back 5 and hitting them on the break. Schmeichel Bennett Evans Soyuncu Ricardo Chilwell Praet Tielemans Maddison Iheanacho Vardy

Bizarrely, being without both Ndidi and Choudhury might make Rodgers at least have a plan.
Guest Posted 21 February 2020 Posted 21 February 2020 Can you imagine the uproar if Pep played De Bruyne or Aguero and they were injured (even just for a week)? I'm pretty sure we'll see Mahrez against us but not De Bruyne.

Dahnsouff Posted 21 February 2020 Posted 21 February 2020 They get the ball, kick them. We get the ball, kick them. Stat is for loosers

DerbyshireFox Posted 21 February 2020 Posted 21 February 2020 I think they will start with a fairly strong first choice side personally, maybe one or two rotated. West Ham the other night they won at walking pace and brought a couple off early. Whoever they start it’ll be a bloody tough game, hopefully we give them a much sterner test this time around
