Problem is that if Brendan says Evans is out for three months, then any CB we try to buy goes up in price by £10m.

Smart thing is to play it cool and say we've got excellent cover.....

I don’t think Brendan has ever put a specific timescale on it.

 

As others said, I could be they don’t want to push up the price of a new CB. 
 

Or it might just be that they honestly don’t know themselves yet, and don’t want to get people’s hopes up.

 

For me though that’s part of the problem - the nature of the issue means even when he’s “back” we’ll be constantly wondering whether he will pull up in the middle of a game.

They're not going to be sat there unaware of what condition Evans is in, and whether he'll ever get back to the top. Yes it might be a bit longer than September but it won't be that much longer.

 

As others have said, if it was on a Huth-level debilitating they'd have already recruited at centre-back.

As someone who has suffered from plantar fasciitis it one of those things that can just disappear as easy as it came.

 

I wouldn't write him off just yet.
