It’ll give us more time to sort a replacement

What pisses me off most about the BEK and potential Fatawu sales, maybe even Mads too, is that you only have to look at what Fulham used to do when they Yo-Yo'd, and what Leeds did last two seasons to see an alternative.

You loan out the players who feel they're too good to play in the Championship, get their wages covered and a loan fee that covers their book value for the year, then they either return and reintegrate or you sell them for a big profit after a good season out on loan.

Why has every sale been clean cut, no return, absolutely final?

We've not even attempted to be creative.

No chance we identify and sign a replacement in time - as well as the other urgent areas of the squad that need strengthening. Took long enough to snap up free agent Begovic.

More bitter on show here than a flat roof working men's club!

Same thing every time someone decent looks like leaving.

Never rated him anyway. Think we're better off without him, actually. Glad he's going. Still, how dare he want to leave? Can't believe he thinks he's better than us. He'd have been better off staying. Definitely don't want him to stay though. Already forgot about him but I hope he fails and ends up back here. BOOOOOO

I must of missed the part where he went Alexander Isak on us? Hes not a Leicester fan, he wants to play in the Premier league. Fair play to him. I dont get why people get so bitter about someone bettering their career

It doesn't have to be Alexander Isak levels though, does it?

His agent is his mother, so she wouldnt link him to clubs that he didnt want to join. Ive lost count of how many clubs he has been linked with and therefore its a fair assumption hes pretty much willing to go anywhere better than us.

He's forced his way out of a previous club so his loyalty is some what questionable.

I don't blame him for wanting to improve his career, but cant blame people for being bitter when players who were contributory to our disastrous season want to jump ship as soon as they possibly can.

I can pretty much guarantee he will want away from Palace if / when they dont make Europe next season.

Of course she would. That's her job.

To raise Bilal's profile and increase general interest.

And she's done an amazing job of that. I was chatting with a Spurs fan last week, who knew of Bilal only because he'd been linked with them. I spoke to a Newcastle fan a few days back who said similar.

Fans of every club he's been linked with now know his name when they didn't before.

Way he played (or didn't ) in that first half at Preston on Saturday suggest he has downed tools already.  Got quite rightly hooked at halftime.

If we can re-invest the funds bring in a striker and attacking centre midfielder we will do alright.

All the naysayers and doom mongers on this site, 32m is a bloody good price.

He had a similar shakey first half against Wednesday then won us the game in the second half with two assists.

Ayew was far worse and stayed on, subbing off El Khannouss was in my opinion the wrong decision and probably cost us the game.

It's looking a lot like we urgently need money now, not later.

I love Bilal and think he’s a fantastic footballer. His output stats are alarming though.

if we can sell for £32 mill plus addons, let Ayew play the 10 role and reinvest the money in other areas. Mainly, striker and CM.

That money is 100% being pocketed by KP though.

Corrected it for you mate. Spot on with your final sentence.

It's ok, the owner will just take out another loan secured against TV money that we won't get.

What could possibly go wrong.

I think this is it, a lot of people have talked about Bilal 'downing tools', if that's the case, and we hold the power, we could loan him out. But clearly it's a club issue more than a player one.

im not too fussed about him leaving (playing wise). A good prospect but no guarantee that he will become the real deal. The mess we are in i think financially its a deal we simply have to do.

Im more angry at the fact we have to sell our good up and coming young players to balance the books due to us spending silly money on trash that we are now stuck with.

We are in no position to be pushing for promotion this season. We will do well to stay in this division especially once the points deduction comes in.

We wont recover from this mess of a squad for years. We are stuck with these players until their contracts are up. Can someone please tell me that they are all in their final year and we can get rid next year?

Soumare, Vestergaard, and Faes all expire at the end of the season.

However, we can’t afford to keep letting players expire rather than being sold as we lose tens of millions that way not recouping our initial transfer outlay.

I wouldn’t put it past the club extending a couple of those contracts as it would be cheaper than buying replacements….

As someone who is crap with numbers and accountancy - that kind of thing - say hypothetically we received a lump sum of £30m for this sale, the LCFC bank account had a deposit of £30m from Palace. How would Top or King Power, actually take the money out of the club at this point and how would it show on our accounts? Can KP/Top just take money out of the club if they wanted to?

Having just done a very quick tot up in my head (again not the best with numbers) of the Macquarie loans, player sales, TV and other bits and pieces of income, against what we've potentially spent on wages, player purchases etc. and it just doesn't seem to add up, where's all the money gone?

We did that with Soumare last time we got relegated. The problem with that approach is that Soumare came back 🤦‍♂️

You need the player to want to do that, too. If it's as divided a dressing room as most of us think, the players mentioned probably just want to cut and run.

Vestergaard and Faes are both 2027. Below is the players expiring in 2026.

Soumare will always come back.

The final day of his contract should call for a celebration and the start of our rebuild!
