I really hope they miss out on Europe this season now. We weren't great but should have had a point. Drinky needs at least a one game miss. He's been pointless the last few games. King looks like an all rounder dynamo compared to him. Benny and Huth going beyond him is a joke. So ponderous on the ball. We defended well today and deserved a point. Benny and Huth plus Simpson and Fuchs played well. Jamie ran but was so isolated. Shinji all hustle and bustle Ooh different opinion alert - that was crap, bad subs and several out of form players being started - Gray should have been on around 55-60 - Shakey way out of his depth and doesn't deserve the job - you can think what you like but it ain't your club or message board any more than it's mine
Izzy Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 I'm not overly concerned, never expected to get anything from tonight anyway. We'll easily still stay up so no drama. Fuchs throw in was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages and worth the entrance fee alone. Top bombing son

Wouldn't move. Fuchs complains. Two attempts at a throw-in. At the third attempt, Fuchs whacks the ball straight into Sanchez' face shoulder. Probably my highlight of an otherwise absolutely forgettable game. You got the most important detail wrong and then left the next most important detail out (he rolled around on the floor holding his face) Nice work
lgfualol Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 Unimpressed but think we deserved a point. That game reminded me of some of the shit Ranieri made us endure, except we didn't lose 4 nil. Games like this just make it so much more important that we do good business this Summer. Ulloa should never be starting in Okazaki's role, or at all - it's clear he makes more of an impact off the bench. Not sure what he has against Gray, but we can't keep playing an out of sorts Mahrez and Albrighton every single game. Just annoyed now.

Why do people think we can just turn up at Arsenal and claim the points at a canter? That league win has gone to some your heads. This is one of the worst Arsenal teams in 2 decades. This one of our best teams ever. Arsenal looked poor, and didn't look solid whenever we attacked them. They often cave whenever a team tries to go for the juggular against them. We were cowardly and tried to hold out for a 0 - 0. We got exactly what we deserved.

I love the guy and hope he gets the job but we were too negative. We hardly had any good chances; a few scrappy ones. Arsenal are dog. We're a better team and should have been more positive. Hate coming away from a game like that and really thinking we missed our chance to win because we weren't brave enough.

Palace did it, West Brom did it. We just let them play their way. They scored a lucky goal, we defended well. I feel so robbed. A point was fair. No more. I'm so mad (at the result, not the team or most of the performances)
Wymsey Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 Not convinced Mahrez is 100% committed for whatever reason.

I swear you could pick a fan from the ground who was in good shape and they could easily do what Okazaki does. As a footballer he adds nothing. Other players get criticised. Mahrez, Drinkwater etc but this guy steals a living at times. True. You know that every time he gets a chance he'll mess it up one way or another.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 We weren't great tonight but they were crap. Gonna be a long, hard slog for them to get back into the top four - such a weak mentality from everyone connected with the club. Fans, players, staff - they're just a massively fragile lot. Will be some time before there aren't at least four sides in this division better than them.
Merging Cultures Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 I was worried we'd lose by a lot more. Didn't expect to win tonight. I thought we executed (what I assume was) our game plan quite well. We lost to a bad deflection, that's annoying and somewhat disappointing, but we limited a decent team to (relatively) not many opportunities.

I think next season we should be competing for 7th, currently occupied by Everton. I wouldn't expect Everton to go there and play so negatively and neither should we. Got what we deserved really. Everton have better players on the ball to offer more going forward, the only player that actually looked really comfortable at times to comfortable on the ball tonight was Benny.

I don't mind constructive debate and differing opinions. I never said it was my club or board more than you. I said bore off to your comment. More than happy to talk tactics and analysis and we both want the club to be successful right?

We showed against Atletico that we can have a go at a very good technical team without trying to pass the ball around them. Wouldn't have to play the same way as an Everton side but I expect us to go and give a decent account of ourselves in an attacking sense.

Callabinho Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 We defended well, but never looked like scoring....Mahrez was horrible again, and we just struggled to get any kind of pace into the game or control....slightly concerned now about the final run in.....I just hope the fear of the slip hasn't set in... Definitely the worst stadium I've been too, more life in a cemetery...
easilee Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 Shakey is learning too. I dread to think of someone else coming in despite his tactics tonight. That would be too much disruption in a team that has looked alright since he took over.
Dr The Singh Posted 26 April 2017 Posted 26 April 2017 I wish we played with more endeavour, they were there for the taking
