We (LCFC) are against giving £250k, but all 20 PL teams have agreed to it.

Does that mean we never had a choice and it was never a request but more a demand?

Sorry i'm not being an ass, im genuinely confused.

The article said it wasn’t voted in. Presumably, we (and four(?) others) dissented but were told we had to go along with it.

I suppose it annoyed me that we gave Shakespeare a three-year deal only to sack him four months in and the subsequent pay-off which seemed like a waste of money.

The club have done the right thing on this occasion.

That was a contract...Scudamores is a bonus on a bonus on a bonus...pathetic if he accepts it just for himself

Villas-Boas banked about £30 million from his sackings at Chelsea and Spurs.

£30 million for being shit at his job!

It wasn’t the greatest bit business by our club but it was our choice. Our money.

A mistake was made and in the long run it was a decision that was made for the future of our club. Being forced to ‘donate’ £250k is not a choice that we’ve had a say in. It’s a completely different situation.

Some interesting running stats with a fox and a former Fox topping the categories

Every player's running stats are tracked in the Premier League but which players and teams have covered the most ground in the season so far? And who are the sprint kings? We look at the numbers to find out…

Unai Emery is not having it all his own way at Arsenal this season but the Spaniard has certainly got his team running for him. The Gunners have already run five kilometres further than any other team in the Premier League in Emery's first season in charge.

Everton's Marco Silva and Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri have also got their players running hard since their own summer appointments, while Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham and Eddie Howe's Bournemouth make up the top five teams for distance covered this season.

At the other end of the spectrum, Manuel Pellegrini has not had the same impact on West Ham's distance stats - only Cardiff have covered less ground than the Irons. Jose Mourinho's Manchester United are also among those not putting in the yards.

Premier League 2018-19 -- Distance covered

Team Distance (km)
Arsenal 1375.7
Tottenham 1370.7
Everton 1356.1
Bournemouth 1354.2
Chelsea 1347.8
Newcastle 1346.8
Liverpool 1342.4
Crystal Palace 1334.5
Huddersfield 1332.3
Manchester City 1331.7
Wolves 1324.6
Burnley 1323.4
Watford 1312.6
Southampton 1311.1
Leicester 1299.9
Manchester United 1297.8
Fulham 1295.8
Brighton 1289.4
West Ham 1282.9
Cardiff 1244.1

Of course, it is not all about how much you run but the type of running that you are doing and a slightly different picture emerges when examining the sprints stats. Liverpool top this particular list having made 1486 sprints as a team in the Premier League this season.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, Howe's Bournemouth and Emery's Arsenal are the only other teams to have topped 1400 sprints so far. The team to make the fewest sprints this season are Burnley with the Clarets having made only 1087 after a dozen games.

Premier League 2018-19 -- Sprints

Team Sprints
Liverpool 1486
Manchester City 1454
Bournemouth 1420
Arsenal 1415
Everton 1385
Huddersfield 1368
Leicester 1358
Newcastle 1341
Chelsea 1320
Southampton 1301
West Ham 1286
Tottenham 1281
Watford 1223
Cardiff 1212
Manchester United 1175
Wolves 1172
Brighton 1171
Fulham 1169
Crystal Palace 1152
Burnley 1087

As for the players to have covered the most ground this season, it is no surprise to see Chelsea's N'Golo Kante top of the pile.

The World Cup winner has run 141.87 kilometres already this season - just ahead of fellow midfielders Luka Milivojevic and Ruben Neves with team-mate Jorginho next on the list.

When it comes to sprints, the runaway leader is Ben Chilwell. The Leicester left-back has made 252 sprints in excess of 25.2 kilometres per hour so far this season.

That is 31 more than the player with the next most sprints - Manchester City's Raheem Sterling. The bronze medal on the sprint podium goes to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.
