Spoke to Gray soon after the game for talkSPORT.

He was very impressive in the circumstances and revealed what it's been like inside the camp during the worst of weeks.

There aren’t many who I’d say this about but you’re a credit to the media. Great interview as always.

He made my job easy by talking so wonderfully and openly about his feelings and those of his colleagues. He has my full respect for that.

I'd like to add my respect for your work this week in particular Geoff. You might call yourself old fashioned, but you've dealt with this sensitively, skilfully, humanely and (I hope this makes you smile) flexibly.

I think now is the time that we should all get fully behind Demarai and hopefully he will mature into the top class player that his potential suggests he can be. He's had his ups and downs and has shown indifferent form in his time here but there's definitely a player in there.

Hoping he can now steer clear of injuries, get a decent run in the side and find a level of consistency that benefits the team and himself. He certainly has the talent. Go on Demarai show us what you can do.

He definitely needs a run. He has always been up and down but his best day is clearly way beyond any of the other options we have at the minute, we might as well roll the dice and see what we have got. I think the only way we unlock his potential is by giving him games and letting him build confidence. He still may not get there but it is worth a go.

There's no question that we are a better side with him in it. I want him to score 10 goals this season and it to be a real breakthrough.

It's interesting that when you read pre-match discussion for other teams, he is one of the main players that they fear. He's not exactly had a bad start to the season - two goals and one assist in ten matches. I think we would have taken that at the start of the season to be honest. Him and Ben Chilwell know each other inside out as well so it's a great partnership on the left side. Just need to figure out the right now...

I like Gray, I also think he speaks well and intelligently whenever I've heard him, in your interview, on match of the day and also when you interviewed on the pitch after we'd won the league.

I'll also add that the day before we lost to millwall in the cup a couple of seasons back we happened to be at the club shop, heading back to the car the players coach was there and grabbed some photos with the players. Gray was more than willing to pose with the kids, even waited for another player to have his photo taken before posing with my kids when he could have easily turned round and got on the bus.

Not sure about that! :D

But for all the cries of his bad attitude and immaturity, at times he has shown quite the opposite. I'm still a massive believer that if he gets a prolonged run in the team, he'll be an excellent player. Easy to forget that he's still only 22

Seems the best place to put this.

Let's support him and all the youngsters coming through.  This is Grays season to prove his PL potential, let's do something against this forum nature!!!

Get behind him,and be supporters who willingly encourage youth, and not jump on small errors, give him patience and the whole season, before we

Analyse him to death!!!

I get the feeling that if it’s going to happen for him in the PL, he needs to kick on this year.

Personally I’m not (yet) convinced he will - if anything, he’s maybe even regressed slightly this season for me.

Still...you could argue Chilwell has only improved after a long run in the team, hopefully Gray might be the same?

BBC Sport

England Under-21s cruised to victory in their friendly in Denmark to extend their unbeaten run to 22 matches.

Demarai Gray opened the scoring before Dominic Solanke and Dominic Calvert-Lewin both scored two goals apiece.

Leicester forward Gray struck the opener just after the half-hour mark with a composed finish before Solanke found the bottom corner with a looping header.

How has he regressed?

Chilwell and grey could end up being a very good combination down the left. If gray can take note from Chilwell work hard and make the place his own things look good.

If Gray gets the same sustained run in the side he might, if he’s in and out all the time you’re unlikely to be able to tell either way

Still needs a lot of work on his end product for us, it’s been good to see him net a couple of goals this season, both very similar as well coming in from deep/wide. He’s a player who has always massively frustrated me, but clearly has talent. Hopefully he can score a few at home for us as well as on the road

Have we watched the same games this season ?? Gray has improved massively from last season and was linking up with chilwell and maddison brilliantly down our left hand side earlier this season (remember united?). Really unfortunate timing with his injury as he was playing regularly up until that point, but returned against West ham as a sub and caused them havoc, then scored that very good goal against Cardiff. Compare that to last season where he was behind Diabate in the pecking order (and deservedly so). He doesn't shoot constantly anymore and mixes it up when taking on his man. How has he regressed ?

All you have to do is watch any other players around his age range in his position to realise he is potentially a really great player. They all suffer with things Gray does. Consistency, poor decision making etc. But i think you can tell Gray is improving all the time and he can really thrive in the environment he has now.

Saying that though, hes the kind of player our supporters love to hate. We can just add his name to a long line of we told you so's in a few years. I still vividly remember a bloke at Peterborough away shouting "Vardy **** off back to non league. Pearson admit you got it ****ing wrong with him".
