DerbyshireFox Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Very good performance at Old Trafford, first half in particular. Hopefully he can kick on this season. Fingers crossed can cut out a few of the errors he was making last year
Clever Fox Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 he's doing well for one so young. He's not particularly tall yet he gets up quite well in aerial challenges. Very good feet with the ball but needs to improve his kicking as he rushes it at times. He needs to work harder than ever now that he has no competition for the LB position to make sure the Club don't bring in anyone. Then he'll be safe for yours to come and will mature into an England LB.
dynamark Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Lest all have a right close look today at the man. Maybe we can come to some agreement on where he is .I'm it bit concerned about the goalkicks all being banged out for Chilwell to try to get some sort of possession which rarely works. Should be a good afternoon
StriderHiryu Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 It’s a race between Madders and Chilwell to be the next Leicester player capped by Southgate. Perhaps they might even get called up together alongside Gray! Seeing all 3 play well together for the team is really exciting and his combination play with Gray is improving every week. I thought he was sensational today when going forward and good defensively too. Wolves in the first half kept hitting the diagonal to force a Costa 1v1 on him but it didn’t work. There were a few misunderstandings with Kasper but at the end of the day no damage was done. Going forwards he was insane at times. The first time control, the driving forwards and crosses. Just one embarrassing moment where he passed it out of play We as fans need to realise that young players need to learn the game and will be both inconsistent and dodgy in terms of decision making. But the positives are there for all to see and he’s clearly improving.
FLAN Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 He’s constantly out of position defending and having to recover. He lacks intelligence (football) and either slows it down and kills the move or makes a stupid pass out of play. That side will be heavily targeted and any half decent team will punish him. And as for the Kasper thing. He nearly cost us. He is nowhere near good enough for England
ARTY_FOX Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 come chilly keep repaying the faith. Hes is going to be England’s first choice soon enough
Ric Flair Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 I've still no idea how good he is as every display is littered with basic positional errors and poor decisions. He's got the brain of Jeffrey Schlupp at times but he's also got many good attributes. I'm interested to see how he progresses, Puel loves him so he's got every chance. A great goal line clearance today and some good attacks but as per usual his crossing and end product was the pits. The amazing run and then clouted it out of play was the highlight for me ?
dynamark Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Very mixed bag IMO not one decent cross but some good work. TBH we didn't cross the ball much at all except for the superb own goal Majjor cock up when beating his own keeper with a back pass Ricardo is a class act though !

His positioning was far less reliable than chilwell’s first half ?
Fox92 Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 I do like our left side now with Chilwell and Gray.

eblair Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 the way he dropped his should and went round the keeper today was world class... shame the keeper was schmeichel mind
Ian Nacho Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 People need to realise if Chilwell had a decent cross on him 100% of the time and was quality at defending he'd be the best left back in the world.
goose2010 Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Ben Chilwell in the first half vs Wolves: - Most passes - Most touches - 0 times dispossessed - 100% of dribbles completed - 100% of tackles won - 94% pass completion - A clearance off the line ? https://t.co/O1rF0WQDgs

So you're telling me that Jeffrey Schlupp has a brain....?!?
ithuriel Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Seems to suffer from Schluppism at times, needs to concentrate a tad more and improve his passing, crossing too.
whoareyaaa Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Lets not forget he is only 21, the only way he is going to learn from his mistakes is by playing, he made a lot of mistakes last season but seems to have improved in these first two games and will continue to grow in confidence and learn from his mistakes. Some players could take a season or two before they are fully aware of there job and responsibilities, he will only get better I recon
MPH Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Let’s face it if he was the finished article at 21, he wouldn’t be playing for Leicester...I think we have seen a massive improvement in him under Puel and Puel will know exactly what he needs to work on and will be the one to get him there... I have no doubt he will be part of the England set up shortly.. even if it’s just to train with them.

BenTheFox Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Puel may have his faults, but I'm so happy we have a manager that gives a promising young players a proper run of games and a chance to learn from their mistakes. Would be gutted if we were to lose that.

Shane Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 I wonder if he will get a call up. He clearly out performed Shaw in the first game, but it was Shaw who got all the plaudits.
Farrington fox Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 I hold my hands up as I slated him a few times last season, but Christ, he has as made a great start. You can see why Claude stuck with him.
