southfox66 Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 I think the conclusion I drew from today is we not as good as we think we are
lcfcell Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Didn’t expect us to get anything and we didn’t, also Kasper OUT please
Deebhoy Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 The usual nonsense from Kasper, usual poor early goal conceded. Kasper pulls off the occasional great save but isn't as good as he and others think. Maddison the best player on the field by a mile and a great goal by Vardy. Midfield and up front a real problem and where BR will likely blow most of his budget. Ben Chillwell ain't no Kieran Tierney.

I really hope this was a one off bad day at the office, otherwise the better option was to keep Puel and say 8ollocks to communication skills in English. What I've just watched is no different to what I've been watching for much of the season, but lacked quality and intensity. There is a gulf between Scottish Preniership and the English Premier division, and true to form it looks like another wasted £6M. Rodgers has a good record in English football
ealingfox Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Lot of harsh comments about the performance. Thought we were alright and were the better side for plenty of the game. Problem was threat - the amount of times we passed it back instead of running at the man or taking a shot I couldn't believe. Not enough runs being made. We've completely chucked it away like we have done many times this season and I'm bloody sick of it. We were well worth a point.
MC Prussian Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Three at the back. Morgan back in the team. Barnes on the right. Chilwell and Ricardo as wingbacks, having to track their entire flank up and down for 90 minutes. Maguire's passes. Maddison's passes and set pieces. Lack of physicality. Schmeichel's kicking. Tedious attacking flow - too much stop and go. All wrong decisions and subsequent outcomes. Plus our god-awful run of letting in the opener in the first ten or fifteen minutes continues. What was that now? The 20th time this season? 20th??? Ridiculous. Stick to four at the back, give Vardy at least one proper striker partner or two proper wingers in order to support him. That should do the trick.
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Do our performances and club activity disprove the suggestion that players are throwing managers under the bus here? Player mistake losing us points in an abject manner again, and it was Kasper, who agitated against Puel Souness might have been right. Top brass need to cut lines of communication to the players, if any exist, deal with the manager alone, give BR true authority
That_Dude Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 But but three at the back is the way to go... Lol, the meltdown. Ir's his first game by the way.
Lcfc-1992 Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Don’t see us playing that formation next week, was looking forward to seeing how it worked before the game. Would rather ndidi drop back into a 3 when we attack instead of having 3 centre backs. 4231 next week with gray back in for Morgan.

murphy Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 At least the game went down well in the Puel household.

whoareyaaa Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Shocking from Kasper overall a draw was a fair result as we know we have a young team that still has alot to learn you can't coach the players to react after 4 days and Watford put up a good game. I don't like the 3 at the back either Nididi is more than capable and we lose an attacking player in the process

SouthStandUpperTier Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Bet Celtic reserves would have got at least a point.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Like they've never played football before, possession in our own half isn't going to accomplish anything. I get really fvcked off with the slow build up, even more so in the last few minutes when we are a goal down. Why are we passing back to the keeper when we should be pumping it forward to try and get a draw. So frustrating.
lcfcsnow Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Sad reality is that we’ll continue to go round in circles and it’ll be hard for any manager to succeed until Morgan, Schmeichel maybe even Vardy are no longer guaranteed starters.

It is quite depressing considering the number of signings made, the money spent, the number of managerial changes etc. Forget 7th or 8th or 9th or probably even 10th. I agree with so much of this. Look at our recruitment in midfield - Mendy, Ndidi, Silva, Diabate, Ghezzal, Iborra... tens of millions spent
womp Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 I think 3 at the back will work eventually but disappointed at what seemed a lack of intensity and the lack of movement when going forwards at times.

justfoxes Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Next up Fulham let’s hope Brendan can sort this lot out get us back to winning ways for which I really believe he can and after today’s loss he’s certainly going to be needing that £200m plus for a rebuild !
foxes_rule1978 Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 1 minute ago, norwichfox said: Not recently.... Well no because he has been managing in Scotland so that wouldn’t be possible. So you are already turning on the guy after 4 days and one game in the job nice
fazzyfox Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Thought Deeney should have been booked before he was for a combination of follow throughs and late challenges and then the out of control / reckless challenge rule for the foul on Kasper is supposed to be a red like Vardy v Wolves and Arsenals player yesterday on Rose. Once you start a jump into a slide you are not in control of the challenge. The worst bit of Moss refereing though was to allow play to continue when a player who had a head injury earlier in the game is sat down static (Vardy). Without that last moment farse we could have taken the draw, reflected on a better final quarter of the game and used the other footage for training analysis on Monday (actually it would take more than one day). Mendy f***ed me off in his few minuted of shuffling then chucking the hot potato as he sees it backwards and side ways as ever and our mentality went to pot as we put ourselves under pressure. To be a fly on the wall when they "discuss" that goal!
wattolcfc Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Kasper should be dropped, not just for his distribution “skills”. Is he the reason why we are so bad at defending set pieces? Personally I’d like a keeper in goal who will come for corners and other balls into the box, will make our defence feel more comfortable and take the pressure off the defenders. Let’s not forget how poor his positioning is on free kicks. As for Rodgers, I think he was right to change the formation this early - if that’s the way he wants us to play. The longer the players get to use the formation, the more familiar they will become in the long run.
StriderHiryu Posted 3 March 2019 Posted 3 March 2019 Overall it was a poor game from both teams and a poor performance by us. I went to the game and thought we never looked like scoring until we actually did. For the most part we were just too slow and static and the extra man at the back meant one less option going forwards. Our goal was a breakaway rather than cutting them open which we just can’t do. Once we did score we did actually look quite good and created several good opportunities in the last 10 only for Kasper to hand them victory so we probably should have had a draw but it would paper over the cracks. BR has only had a few days with the players so it will take time to coach them, but they desperately need improving. I feel like only Tielemans passes the ball forwards quickly. Maddison is capable of the deadly through ball but he throws himself to the ground too often and plays it too slowly. Despite changing the manager I expect this type of performance until the end of the season. Hopefully we will start pressing further up the pitch but that’s hard to change overnight. Away fans were great today though.
