As much as losing 4-1 to Ajax would’ve hurt Chelsea’s comfidence, a 4-4 draw that they could’ve won 5-4, if not for VAR, is probably even more draining for them mentally and physically. Pretty good for us really.

I think that simply Chelsea didn't look much cop.

They lack a tactical nous and were in no way in any control at any time

Talkshite discussing who Chelsea should buy in January if their transfer ban is lifted. Answer - they should definitely get Ben Chillwell in. Simple as that. Dickwads.

Would he be a massive upgrade on Alonso/Emerson for the fee they’d have to pay? I’m not so sure.

Arsenal fans

Aubameyang named the new Arsenal captain. Because the fans have been really nice to him recently lol

They managed to get one captain the sack, shouldn't be too much trouble for them to turn on the next one. I can't imagine Arsenal fans encourage the players too much.

Two goals and one disallowed in twenty minutes is impressive but two goals in twenty minutes after getting both Ajax's centre halves sent off is a tad bit easier. They're still a good team, mind - transfer ban, no Kante, inexperienced manager and fourth in the league.

I thought VAR was there to review games as they went along, so why has it taken two days to rescind the red for Son? It's meant eradicate errors that lead to the teams being at a disadvantage due to poor refereeing decision. We should no longer have games where player are or aren't sent off when they should or shouldn't be. Tottenham have played a chunk of that game with 10 men and possibly cost the a win.

I thought Tackling from behind was considered 'Today' as dangerous and irreponsible play.....no matter how nice a guy might be...

Son clipped him,Causing him inadvertentently  to change Stride which causes the injury... I agree with many Not  intentional...but irresponsible the reason Why

several years ago authorities Rightly wanted long Sliding tackle from the back to be seen as dangerous....

So no matter One can also Sympathise with Son,he shouldnt of even tried....RED, for the sake of the game..!!!

Or am I being Too hard..!!!  I See no reason for the Card being rescinded......Even if it was lets say... Maddison/Barnes/Soyuncu doing the same!!

Amazed people still talk about Leicester like you can just waltz in and buy whatever you want for a reasonable fee. You're paying through the nose and eyesockets if you come shopping here - in-particular if it's mid-season, as a top 4 rival.

And that’s why anyone associated the Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal etc keep doing it. They don’t want us to keep our momentum going as we’re a threat. It’s a huge compliment that the latest is Arsenal fans climbing on the Merson bandwagon to replace Emery with Rodgers. You can see their logic - clearly the players haven’t had their heads turned so let’s sound out the ambitious manager instead...

We are a club on the up. New training ground is meant to be one of the best in the world. Not just saying that as a Leicester fan. Young talented side with players who will get better with the right coaching. Superb chairman who clearly loves the club as much as we do and lets the manager get on with his job with his full support and backing. 32,000+ fans every home game and superb away following. With stadium capacity to be increased. Potential for champions league / definite European football next season. Due to Maguire sale lots of money available for the manager if he wants to spend on players he sees can improve an already highly talented and experienced side. Rodgers has everything he needs here.

Can someone point out to Klopp moaning about fixture congestion.

That is largely down to:

1) the large clubs like Liverpool wanting a bloated Champions League

2) their previous moaning about the schedule which has seen the PL implement this peculiar winter break

3) Liverpool played pre season largely in America

I'm sure he is more than aware of the reasons for the congestion, he is just getting excuses in early incase they drop points and fail to win the league again.

I do have a bit of sympathy and it may well be something we face next season. There are occasions when, to the detrement of individual clubs, unsympathetic build up of fixtures occur when they could perhaps be managed better by the powers that be. A example would be this ridiculous World Club match (whatever the correct name is) that Liverpool have to play. Ok, you could argue that that's part of territory you enter if you're successful but, nevertheless, it's just an absolutely meaningless competition to most European teams cycnically dreamt up to make certain governing bodies more money. Personally, if I was Klopp I'd just send a bunch of kids but he's probably hamstrung by rules and can't.

Fans can't start complaining about their teams not taking certain competitions seriously when physically speaking, a manager can't keep playing his deemed best first 11. Yes, I'm aware it's a squad game but the way it's going, clubs will essentially require two 'first teams' with both the expense and potential player unrest that could go with that.

We are not a wealthy club if compared with a Man City/Real Madrid etc and we are aware that a club our size, should it qualify for Europe, will undoubtedly be affected by a build up of fixtures, it happened to us last time and also to Wolves. Should we accept that teams like us should merely attempt European qualification every two or three years due to the impossibility of managing Europe, Premiership and a plethora of cups or, should we reasonably expect our governing body to at least be as sympathetic and organised as possible? For a club our size, should we qualify for Europe, I do think fans also have to reach a certain level of understanding in that they can't start bleating should a very weakened side is fielded in a lesser domestic cup competition.

The only way we sell someone like Chilwell in January will be on our terms, bids will have to start at £100m. Even the players will know and accept that no one leaves mid season without it being very favourable terms to Leicester City.

We have to play two Premier League games on the 27th and 29th Dec because of Amazon moving the first game back a day. Now, THAT is daft from the organisers when it's the same competition.

We are even worse off with a 43.5 hour turnaround

But there's two sides to this trying to keep a player who sees his future elsewhere is impossible as we've seen with Kante, Drinkwater, Mahrez and Mcguire.

Players could 'treble wages' elsewhere

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers admits his side cannot compete financially with the elite clubs and understands that players may seek greater fortune elsewhere.

Rodgers’ star players, like James Maddison and Ben Chilwell , are being linked to the Premier League’s heavyweights ahead of the January transfer window.

City lost Harry Maguire to Manchester United in the summer, having seen N’Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater and Riyad Mahrez leave for Chelsea and Manchester City over recent seasons.

Leicester will likely face a battle to keep hold of their high-profile players again, and Rodgers cannot deny the appeal of the wealthier clubs.

“The reality is we will never be able to pay,” he said before City’s win over Crystal Palace. “We will never be able to pay what some of these guys can get at some of those clubs. You can leave here and double or treble your wages."

The fixture congestion isn't a new issue though.

The Premier League was once 24 teams meaning 46 fixtures, the League Cup early rounds were double legged, the World Club Cup was a game in November/December held in Tokyo, the European Super Cup was a double legged fixture, FA Cup fixtures were replayed until a conclusion.

I have just looked and in Man U's triple winning season they played 63 games which is ironically how many games Liverpool will have to play if they want to pull of the same feat (and finish the League Cup in the Quarters as they did)

The main fundamental change has been the increase in European fixtures to which the big clubs wanted and are now pushing for even more bloated competition. Man U played 8 games in the FA Cup, well replays are all but gone. They played 11 games in Champions League but Liverpool would play an additional two.

This issue around this fixture clash stems from the introduction of the Winter Break - that's meant that they have made an additional December midweek game.

It's a difficult one. Without starting earlier (and the PL is already one of the earliest European leagues to start) or not having a winter break, there is no way to fit all fixtures in without causing a pile up. You could always remove PL teams from the League Cup or scrap it altogether? Abolish replays of FA Cup games in any round (currently not until the 5th Round is it?). Play the FA Cup in midweek. etc etc etc

All of those options suit the big clubs and are to the detriment of the smaller clubs, rich getting richer and the smaller clubs can do one!

If the big clubs are unhappy, protest to uefa about to many European games - go back to a straight knock out competition.
