Caglar Soyuncu emerges as new cult hero at Leicester City

Recommended Posts

Think he needs some time out of the team.

Everyone can have bad moments, there was a time in the 16/17 season where even Jamie Vardy was totally shite. Soy will come back stronger and better, but I don't think the Turkish debacle at the Euros is out of his system. He's being rash where before he was calm and composed.

Needless to say having Evans back would help him immensely.

Tbf to the bloke he was much better second half and just kept it simple like he should be doing. He is still a bombscare though and about as rash as they come

Yup liked that he sorted himself out at the halfway break, maybe he got a talking to from an experienced pro and second half he upped his game

He's been all over the place but it wasn't a penalty if you need to look at a replay 50 times, the officials were desperate to give it.

Still no need to dive in. The player wasn't about to score. He's definitely not himself at the moment so I'd give him a break if we had cover.

Looks stressed. Noticed that BR had a friendly word with him at the end. His confidence looks shot.

Think he'll be OK when he gets his head straight.

Awful performance. He was all over the place but we also need to look at the bigger picture here,

There are a wider gap between Zone1 and Zone2. ( the area covers between defence and midfield)

Our midfielders don't look as dynamic as they used to and we do not have an functioning sweeper front of the defenders which puts our boys under immense pressure more this season.

Watch our last 3 games closely. Our oppositions enjoyed plenty of rooms available to them between Zone1 and Zone2.

Seems to be a confidence thing with him. Having Evans in there takes the pressure off him so he relaxes and plays much better. Wonder if the pressure of feeling like he should be leading the line as the main centre back in Evans’ absence has distracted him and affected his form? The amount of injuries around him can’t help either.

his form has dipped, and he’s become rash, but don’t forget not long ago we were praising how good he was and we didn’t want to lose him.

Cags does look better with evans next to him. But, he doesn’t play with Evans for turkey and is still their no.1 CB. In fact, in the euros when turkey were so poor I actually thought that cags was really solid. Also, amartey is actually playing well at the moment so there is no need for cags to be “covering” for him. He’s just playing sh*t consistently.

He’s impetuous and aggressive …… impetuous is an issue for a CB when mixed with the aggression.

moyes will have told Antonio that if he gets one on one with his back to cags in the box that he won’t be able to help himself in fishing for the ball and he can be pinned and turned.  That’s cags.  He will mature as a CB and he will perhaps be a great CB but he isn’t little wes who at 20 is more able to control his impetuous streak (though not entirely).  This could all be down to cags not actually being a CB in his formative football years.

with evans alongside him he does look a bit more in control ……. We just have to take the rough with the smooth with cags whilst he matures further in the role ……..

Sent off tonight for Turkey, he’s going through a real rough patch at the moment in his career. It’s just a shame that we can’t take him out of the side for a bit to clear his head.

Jesus Christ. Absolute disaster at the moment.

.....makes you wonder if the issues with Under has had an effect on his game!!!

He can't seem to keep it together and at this moment he is the one charged with holding our backline. The possibility that he could feel, to some degree, that he failed his friend to some degree and at present he has far too much pressure on him .
