We seem to all be expert physios.

Not sure you need to be an expert to see what happened? Checked for an ACL injury and then he went off on a stretcher.

I've tore my ACL and it's not immensely painful - I hobbled off the pitch on it. Ricardo played 45 mins on a torn ACL.

Sadly all signs point to an ACL given he did it landing and twisting and they tested his ACL and called for the stretcher.

Doesnt sound good then based on that.

I'm sorry, I don't know how you specifically check for that injury. Evidently lots of you do.

They immobilise your knee, then see if the lower leg hinges up with no resistance. If no resistance then ACL is gone.

Often, that type of incident means a player is out for 6 weeks to 9 months.  Hope it isn't.

A ray of hope is Thomas looks like he is getting better and better

Doesn’t look good which is a real kick in the teeth. What a player he’s been for us this season, and if this means he misses the Euros too because of it, how gutting for the lad. Such a shame

Is it a promising sign that he wasn't really writhing around in agony and actually sat up for a bit?

Maybe going off on a stretcher just precautionary?

Would be more gutted about this than Ricardo. Fingers crossed for him

He looked pretty uncomfortable to me, especially when they tested his ligaments. It might be a strain rather than a rupture, we'll have to wait and see what the MRI says.

Gutted for him.. He. Must've been in contact with southgates lot saying expect a call.

Spent a full season struggling to get a run in the team.. Finally gets himself in a position he's undroppable, and then gets injured playing centre back and now back to square one... Getting fitness back, back of the queue and needing to wait to get back in

Been told tonight that the immediate reaction of the staff is that it’s not as bad as first feared but subject to a scan obvs

(This was before Rodgers interview)
