Is this our best side with everyone fit?

Schmeichel

Castagne, Fofana, Soyuncu, Pereira

Praet, Ndidi, Tielemans

Barnes, Vardy, Under

I’m not a fan of this 5 at the back malarkey.

Lost 3 nil to West Ham and beaten by Villa.. we did okay after that.

I think most of us were expecting results at those teams anyway, so you could easily tell the players likewise. After the good run we’ve been shown we’re not all that, similar to last year when it went tits up

Disappointed by the defeat but think that people are massively overreacting.

We have many key injuries and Liverpool were simply the better team. We do have a set-piece problem, but that's what happens when you play against them. They're relentless and force you to make mistakes.

Cheer up and think about the next game.

And what is it with Albrighton just constantly whipping it in to nobody. From those types of crossing we will score about 2 times out of 100 crosses.

Even his crossing let him down today. We need our full backs because this guy can’t play RB again

Tbh, I don't think out best 11 would have fared much better.

Imagine how much worse that could have been if we had an injury crisis like those poor souls at Liverpool. I can't imagine what it must be like to have an injury crisis and have multiple players injured and actually have to delve into an expensively assembled squad of players to make it through the injury crisis.

It isn’t... last couple of seasons we’ve not laid a glove on them...

That's because they're better. And we had chances (and a penalty shout). It's nothing to do with 'too much respect', etc, they're just a class above and we haven't figured them out yet. Our short handedness at the back really showed tonight. We move on (I hope).

Tielemans is a class act most of the time but in high intensity games he just doesn’t turn up

He's a good player but too slow at the highest level. Which is where we're aiming for. But the real problem is a lack of a physical presence in midfield, And that  problem has been their for a while.

Thomas on the left and Justin on the right would be a better option

When are we ever going to sort out our corners? Both in attack and defence.

Am I the only one who thinks we will never score from ours but are sure to concede from one of theirs?

5 at the back isn't for me either but it will be difficult for Rogers to change it given the way we have played until today.

Ouch. Not quite as devastating as boxing day but just as clear an indication that we're some way off the top!

Not sure anyone came out of that with any credit. Justin perhaps at a push. The rest were noticeable either by their lack of focus, energy, quality or by simply going missing for 60/90 mins.

Good post. Justin yes. A collective failure though. Nothing was right and we need more battlers in games like that. Liverpool were goodit has to be said, though they didn't need to be great as we were very poor. That is what is baffling and disappointing. Lucky it was not a couple more goals.

I tell you who I'd make walk home, Dennis Praet for trying 3 outside of the foot passes in less than 2 minutes in good positions and making a pigs ear of all of them. Summed up how daft we can be when we are roughed up and rushed in our play. Prat

Struggling to name a single thing we did well. Second season running that Liverpool's easiest game of the season is against us (I fail to believe anybody will be worse than that). I appreciate we have a lot of players out but the mindset was wrong from the off. The midfield barely gets a kick against them every time.

I just hope we get that game out of our system ASAP. I feel like the hammering from them on boxing day was a big turning point last season - mentally as much as anything. I worry such a shoeing could have a similar effect.

The good news for us is our next 6 are all very winnable.

Recovered from a stinking result against West Ham no?

I don’t think praet is better than madders

i don’t think under has shown he is a starter

I would worry about cags and fof together as both are a bit impulsive and good players will get past them like firmino and mane did to wes this evening

That's your problem. Giving one of your own players a minus score is not a sign of a rational mind.

Well im sorry that my opinion has hurt your feelings.

But

Thats my opinion if I don't think certain players turned up today I can give them what I want.

I dont agree with half the shite you spout but I have the ability to ignore your crap, maybe if your feelings are hurt from my opinion you should do the same with my post/opinion

Possibly not, and not the point I was going for but I do think the role of the full backs in our usual side is underplayed, we rely on them creatively as well as defensively. It will make a huge difference to have Ricky and Timmy overlapping some wingers.

Loss to the 2nd best team in the world next to Bayern Munich. Oh well. Bossing Europa. World class players returning from injury.

Whatever. Cry me a river.

We were cack, they were good. Had hoped we could get something, but didn't expect it.

We have shown we can bounce back, so roll on Thursday.
