Slavia Prague Post match - 2-0

Recommended Posts

A horrible performance that lacked any sort of control or cohesion.

The manager, obviously not giving the competition or the opposition enough respect, got his selection and tactics badly wrong, and as Slavia started to realise that we had a few ‘passengers’ playing for us, they took heart and went on to do what so many other teams have done at the King Power - defend en masse and hit us on the counter.

Our response was pathetic - pure panic.

Furthermore, Vardy’s lack of confidence and frustration with himself is becoming as much of an issue for the team as all the injuries.

It really hurts now, but it will hurt even more if this is the start of the decline and we go and lose to Arsenal.

Lost to a team unbeaten this season.

No. We lost to a team that got knocked out of the chanpions league by the mighty Midtjylland 4-1. Let that sink in for how bad we have been tonight.

Make no mistake, this is up there for one of the worst games in Leicesters history when you look what it would have meant to the club and us fans. Like Wycombe in the cup 20 years ago.

Lost 2 in 20! Not good enough though, with a thinning team we should be winning in both Europe and the pl, I think BR made a sacrifice tonight... sure he wanted to win but didn’t want to risk more key players

But he did risk key players.

Sod this concentrate on the league bollox

Sod the top 4 cup…

Would love to have done well in this Cup….

So you want it all then, because had we won tonight and then been the pits in the league in the next few games and/or crash out to Man Utd in the FA Cup that's you'd be just as furious.

Time will tell how much of a missed opportunity this is.

The 'best' rest for players is on the sidelines

Kasper and Vardy together earn more than their whole team collectively. You can’t blame on us not having the players available ... we lost due to tactics, mentality and team selection/combination.

I think if we end up with top 4 and possibly doing well in the FA Cup, then when might look back at this as a good thing.

(I'm looking for positives don't shoot me)

Won't shoot you, but clarify doing well in the FA Cup. Is that going out to Man U. fielding a weakened side?

Another game where we fail to break down a defensively organised team, was a problem under Puel, still a problem every now and then under Rodgers.

Team selection today was wrong in a few areas, at least two of Ricardo, Castagne and Barnes should have started.

Injuries didn’t help matters.

Depth in certain areas isn’t good enough, the likes of Choudhury and Under have no future at Leicester.

If we don’t rectify the last point in the summer, then come next season whether we’re in the Champions League or Europa League, we’ll end up having more nights like this.

And if Barnes had blown out his ACL like JJ did (keeping in mind that he's been overused as much as JJ this season) we'd be howling bout why Brendan played him.

Squad depth - mainly the injuries and Nacho's stupid yellow in the first leg - caught up with them.

So we aren’t playing players in football matches in case they get injured? Minds well not bother playing any competition then.

I just don't understand the negativity of you lot on here. Look at where we are in the PL. It's so annoying that if we don't perform like champions every game the doom mongers dismiss us as losers. Ridiculous

Come on, OK if we lose to a Brighton or Fulham in the league, we know anyone can beat anyone. This team was from a very poor league and is a crappy team. This is why a lot of us are pissed off. It's a game we should have won simple as that with whatever team was put out. Every player was poor. No desire, no urgency, no instinct. Just poor all round.

For all those saying, glad we are out of it so we can concentrate on PL and FA Cup, what was the point of even trying in the group stages then if that is the attitude?

To win the group comfortably then to meekly surrender like that over two legs for me is a waste of time and effort.

Yes we have injuries etc but that was poor, selection and playing wise, and I fear this will create a hangover going into the next league games.

Put it like this, you’re only as good as your last game.

You really believe that don't you. Rubbish soundbite. We're far better than this last game and you know it. Sick of the knee jerk negative bollocks some of you guys come out with.

Yes he did but I guess had to choose the ones to rest

He clearly picked the wrong ones. In what world do you pick Amartey in front of Castagne or Ricardo and play Hamza further up the field from Tielemans and Ndidi?

Rodgers has a lot to be blamed for tonight and this defeat will go down in the annals of LCFC as a very very bad night

IF We had been ripped off or it was close it would have been painful.  BUT We were SO shite all game & annoyingly they defended well & outworked us 2nd half.

So after all that & the disappointment that reducing tiring squad will be glad of the games not being played & IF they can right the ship in the next 2 games, 3rd/4th at best & Europe almost certainly again will be there - I expect & maybe a cup win!!!!

At least tonight has shown how poor our squad is. Amartey and hamza should be no where near a side that wants to come in the top 4. We desperately needed a midfielder In the window. If we are serious about the top 4 we need to spend something. Eriksen was avaliable but we wouldn't pay his wages. If maddison is out long term the top 4 has gone.
