In that half he has looked out of his depth and adds to the time at Burnley where the game just passed him by. Yeah great shot but I mean based on that it’s no wonder Brendan said nobody in the youth teams was ready to step up

He looks really slow and has made loads errors. In his defence, just like the likes of Thomas and even Amartey, should be nowhere near the 1st team and would struggle to make it into a second string. Cracking tekkers on that shot though so fair play for having the confidence to try. We have to be realistic and not expect too much though!!!

Well he should be. Got to change the shape and whilst the talent is there and I think he's going to be a very good player 4 or 5 times he's been really sloppy in possession and positionally he's all over the place.

Watch him score a worldie now.

He’s not the only positionally all over the r place. Senior players are so he’s bound to be.

Obviously eager and he’s dropping off to receive the ball in deeper areas, but that means we can’t get up the pitch.

Great strike but that’s the only plus. Can’t judge a player on 45 but he needs to step it up second half

He wants a little bit more time on the ball than this game will allow.

He will learn, but it is costing us this game.

It’s not easy to just step into the premier league at 19 ....... he has shown enough in flashes to show there is a player in there but it’s not going to happen overnight for him .......

I think the correct way is close to 'Ta-varsh', but by that logic we would be saying Fernandsh and Gomsh for Fernandes and Gomes, which we don't. I'll stick with Ta-var-ezz.

I’ve heard multiple commentators says Fernandesh and Gomesh. We’re not great at pronouncing things properly in this country though.

But he's meant to be playing alongside Youri and he's constantly running into the same space. That means that we're constantly getting it at wingback and having nobody within about 40 yards for the pass.

Not the only one but he's constantly lost the ball and made the wrong decisions so think it's right he comes off.

Obviously has talent but is so slow on the ball. Has been really sloppy with simple passes too.

In fairness, Brighton have been good at closing us down and shutting down the space.

The guy isn’t a #10. Which is why he keeps dropping deeper.

Not only is he a 19 year old making a his debut, he’s playing out of position. So give him a break guys.

Just a bit too  eager. Give him time he will grow into the game

He can't really pass eh.  Sort of essential for a center mid ?

Tbf He’s trying to be positive and pass it forwards, rather than shuffling it back every time and get 100% pass stats - He’s probably starting to realise the difference in speed between the u23 league and the premier league. It’s that second less you get that he’s got to get a grip of quickly. Difficult for any midfielder with the back 3 all over the shop - but when you are a 19 year old playing with a team that is playing like they’ve never played together in that system before (tbf they haven’t) it’s doubly difficult. We know it needs to switch to a flat back 4 but we also know it probably won’t.

No better than anyone on the pitch. His shot was the only slightly spark but the more you see it, the more you realise the GK should never be beaten by it.

That's a fair observation tbh.

I suppose it's why we should try blood youngsters earlier so they aren't thrown striaght into the mixer. Like if there's 10 mins to go....why always bring on Albrighton or Fuchs ....bring on a youngster so that when called upon....they don't shit the bed.

Not a bad debut considering he is playing in a mess of a side currently, only way he will be able to improve is through getting regular exposure to first team football
