Creating a much-needed 'calm down' thread.

 

Feel free to come and hang out here whenever the meltdowns get too much.

 

We're out of the Europa League, a competition that offers a CL spot for the winner and absolutely nothing for second place.

 

No glory. No riches. Just miles of travel and a bunch of tough midweek fixtures against some established European stalwarts.

 

We are stretched to the brink with injuries, and people are demanding too much from a thin squad. 

 

Calm down. This has been an unusually tough season physically and mentally for the players. If they can deliver our second-best ever league finish and qualify for the Champions League, at this stage we should be overjoyed at the prospect - and sod everything else.

 

Back the lads.

Surely people are allowed to be disappointed with two performances devoid of any quality or creativity. The last 16 was there for the taking.

People are emotional that we lost. Most of the ranting is ridiculous, but sometimes you have to get things off your chest. Best to try to not let it bother you (although it often does me)

I wouldve liked to see us go on a european journey, playing against ac milan etc it's not always about winning. That being said our injuries are getting too much so im not overly annoyed by going out as it will allow our squad a chance to reset.

Quite simply with the horrific injury list  we have we didn't have the squad to be compete in 23 more games (on top of the 40 odd we have already played) so so something had to give. The europa leauge was by far the best competition to go out of as it was another 7 games to win.

Don't think I could ever post in this topic on the same day we put in a performance like that, but a topic like this is just what we need.

 

Good show, brush off the disappointment and wondering what could have been, and move onto Sunday.

If you’re not disappointed then youre not a lcfc fan. The way we got dumped out was horrendous and we just didn’t turn up. Individually and collectively terrible. 

 

But, some of the comments on here are even more embarrassing than that performance. Got to look at the bigger picture. We’re having a fantastic season and I’d be damned if I let a shitty two leg cup tie ruin it for me.

I’m calm just disappointed I grew up when if we made it through the first round of the uefa cup it would be a miracle. I genuinely thought we had a great chance of getting far in this years completion but haven’t really turned up and had The manager making excuses and playing weakened sides well at least we won’t be tired in the future

This threat absolutely. We were poor, it happens. The better team won. We love onto the next game. Overall we’re having another one of the best seasons in our recent history and not making excuses but injuries didn’t help. We still should’ve won but we didn’t we’re still in with a good shout of a top 4 finish and FA cup quarter final.
