Brendan Rodgers

It's ironic that I heard it was Brendan and Kasper who were going ballistic in the Southampton HT dressing room when in it's these two who really need to sit down in the cold light of day and realise that they are the problem.

Rodgers needs to focus on nothing other than defending set peices in training. Kasper needs to be pulled out of GK training and they need to play ball after ball after ball into the box getting used to a man marking system.

I'm certain this utter horror show, that i can't remember being this bad even in the dark days, is now seriously impacting the rest of the players and their confidence is shot. They are not bad players, they are far from it but they're stuck with a GK who's weakness is being magnified by coaching methods that are just perplexing.

Brendan, it's not a weakness to admit you've got something wrong, it's a sign of strength and good leadership. Even if you believe your current way -  that is conceding goal after goal - is the right way, you need to make a drastic change to release the pressure valve for us all. The players and fans need to see something different as it simply cannot continue like this.

I’m not sure it’s ironic so much as predictable. Neither of them have shown a desire to look inwards and blame themselves - Schmeichel blames his teammates whenever he boots it out of play and Rodgers never takes the blame for his and the team’s failings.

One of them is a club legend, a Championship and Premier League winner who near single-handedly got us into the CL quarter finals and won us the FA Cup. The other one managed the 5th best squad in the country to 5th 2 seasons in a row and an FA Cup. The credit in the bank is not remotely comparable, which is why I am willing to give Schmeichel the benefit of the doubt.

Rodgers is a smart man, he realised one of Puel’s big failings was that he alienated the big characters in the dressing room. Rodgers indulges them and so far it’s worked for him.

Graeme Souness:  For me Leicester’s big problem is not just set pieces but they lack aggression, spot on Mr Souness

This is down to the players, they are being coached to block runs in the box, but they seem to be half arsed all the time!  Yes the manager has to take responsibility, but theses players are payed good money to do a job!

And you seem like a stubborn difficult individual who can't answer a question. Bet you're an absolute laugh to be around...

Nope, didn't see it coming. My answer would be to keep him and my wish is he sorts out the defence. Far easier said than done and happy to admit it. Also happy to admit it's unlikely because Rodgers is probably as stubborn as the poster I've quoted above.

Fair. Amorim also interests me, too. If it was conceivable and 'guaranteed' we'd get him, then perhaps it's worth a punt.

Funny about the Big Sam/Dyche shouts though - yeah they'd sort out defence out from set pieces but every other piece of play would be fvcking horrid. We'd regress further with them...

Fair, again. At least there's names :D

Robins - too much of a risk for sure, and not one I'd want us to gamble on at the moment.

Emery - not a bad shout, don't think the football would be that attractive however like you say, organised and has the experience on how to get clubs successful (ironically this is what attracted us to Rodgers when he first came in!)

Amorim - see above :)

A LIST OF NAMES! FINALLY SOMEONE CAN DO IT!

Know a lot more about them some of the others (as in managers, not posters lol). Having said that, I wouldn't be touching Dyche, Parker or Potter in our situation.

Rose wouldn't leave Dortmund for us. Galtier just signed for Nice in summer. While some of them are more attainable than others, there's some that are more attracted to perhaps the kind of manager we want, too...

Lots of different styles as well.

Some of those coaches would need longer to pick up the pieces and re-shape a team. Some would need some major investment.

You can’t keep repeating the same thing and expect to get different results . Any one and everyone can see we’re rubbish at set pieces . It’s not working it’s not worked all season so change it . I’ll also add you can’t do zonal marking effectively with a keeper that has  no command of his area . Kaspers a club legend and a great keeper but  he does have his weaknesses one of which compounds the issues with set pieces . We either change from zonal marking or we play a keeper that commands his area . We can’t keep on with both

The wheels are falling off big style... From the top 4 contender to a (barely) midtable team of players who look like they can't be arsed enough :(

I think the decision time is coming again for Top. By now Rodgers knows he's living on a borrowed time. When it's not working, it needs to be fixed, and since we can't replace the players, we have to change the manager. It seems he's lost the plot tactically a good while ago but now it's getting increasingly evident that he's losing the players as well (apparently he's not that great man manager as he presented himself to be...).

I firmly believe that, apart from the few weak links like Vestergaard or Perez, we have a good top 6-8 squad, no less. We all saw and remember (though the memory is fading as the season flies by) most of these players can actually play football! Yet currently they seem to forget even the basics.
Their form is off, but what worries me the most, as far as the players are concerned, is that the attitude is not even there. Mentally we are the polar opposite of the team we were a year ago. No confidence, no trusting each other, no nothing, just pass-pass-pass-passive apathy. The players don't believe in the manager anymore.

I'd love BR to prove me wrong, but just can't imagine him turning this around. He's too stubborn, has his head stuck too deep up his own arse to be able to see things clearly.

Rodgers has no excuse for the awful defending from set pieces.

A specialist set piece coach is a must, even if it's just to bring fresh ideas as the current system isn't working. Also, he needs Evans to step up an organise them on the pitch at set pieces and make sure they're aggressive in defending them.

Robins would jump at the chance let's be honest but we aren't taking that risk, Emery is doing fairly poorly this season isn't he? I like Amorim although get the feeling he'd be great with us or awful

Absolutely. And everyone has their favourites. However, the main point is that there are candidates out there. This idea that Brendan is our saviour and we should lick his toes is ridiculous. What we are seeing is not poor form. It’s habit. It happens too often.

It’s likely we’ll have a few players leave over the next couple of seasons due to the contract situation and what worries me is how poor a lot of the signings have been under Rodgers. Fofana and Daka are the only two that you could say have been successes and it’s still early days for Daka.

”Transfers start and finish with me” he told me a few weeks back, so he does have the final say on who comes in.

Our best players throughout Rodgers time here have been players that were already here.

He’s had some amazing success with the likes of Under, Ryan Bennett, Vestergaard and Bertrand, to name but a few.

Justin and Castagne also?

Generally I do agree with you though. This summer was not any good either plus the fact we still need a good right winger is very frustrating.

Ok, I’ll give you Justin bit the jury is still out with Castagne.
