Gave them a foul on the box when gakpo dived after justin had run past him. He literally had his back to gakpo and was running away from him and the guy goes airborne!

That was dreadful 

never had proper control and was fortunate that no player decided to make a shocking challenge in frustration 

 

it was like he had a dice in his pocket which had two sides leicester, two sides Sunderland and the rest don’t give anything. And he just rolled it every time the players looked at him …..  clearly the dice was weighted against us in all physical challenges.  

 

Considering his experience, he was dire.

He was right to book Nacho for clapping him but I loved Ricardo questioning a minute later why that was worth a booking but not Roberts hacking down Winks.

Worst referee I have seen for sometime, utter clown.

Still can't believe he gave nothing after one of their players pulled Mavididi down from behind and he was standing right there watching.

He wanted to play the advantage a lot, which usually I don’t mind if there’s a clear advantage. An advantage is not “you still have the ball so play on”.

Fatigue being pulled outside the box.   Gets into the box.  Still being pulled.  Free kick outside the box.

 

Did the ref give an advantage to the defender for starting early?

 

In the interests of balance.  When Faes hacked down their player for a clear penalty,  why wasn't their player booked for diving?

Only that ref that was a friend of someone's on here, the one that had to be escorted off for his own safety way back before we were promoted,

They’re shit but I kinda respect that they live and die by their own decisions and because they have no VAR they have to make a decision.

 

It’s gonna be so hard readjusting back to refs hiding behind and leaving everything to VAR again (and still get it wrong).

He missed so many smaller things, which then accumulate and both teams and fans get rightly frustrated. 

 

He was just really inconsistent. 

 

Should have been helped out by the linesman for the Faes penalty, and then should have spotted the Vestergaard foul on the box. Also somehow forgot the rules when it came to shirt pulling starting but finishing inside the box. 

 

Thankfully none of the decisions didn't lead to any big game-changing moments or a goal.

As someone said, Iheanacho shouldn't have sarcastically applauded, but when he's missed six clear arm round the waist and shirt pulling when the long ball has come over the top, the first time it's the other way round and he blows the whistle, you can understand the frustration.

 

It's all about consistency. I can excuse decisions I don't like as long as they are applied consistently across both teams.

 

Some referees have a style, which is to let the game flow, or to call up every foul.

 

It was like last night he couldn't decide at any one point what he wanted to do and the result was he lost all control and authority.

Was just about to say exactly the same, I don't know what the actual rules are. But from witnessing 1000's of games it's always been the same. In your own half... just play on if you have the space and time to pass it away. Getting near the opponents box, then give the free kick unless you obviously have the chance to do something with a high potential outcome of a goal.

It wasn't just the fact that he pulled it back for a free kick outside the box, he pulled it back 5 yards outside the box!!

I think we have have the rub of the green over the season, seen multiple games where because we the favourite of the league, we get soft free kicks.

 

Faes lucky to not concede a penalty vs sunderland.

 

If you think its bad this season wait till we back in the EPL as one of the small boys, back to dodgy VAR decisions and the like.

 

Also a EPL PO final, ref in the forest vs huddersfield play off game, huddersfield I wouldnt have faulted them for starting a court case over that, was ridiculous.

Rodgers' general draining of everything meant I hadn't really been annoyed at a ref for a long time. 

 

Good to have it return. He was abysmal.
