KELECHI IHEANACHO looks set to make a packet after firing Leicester into the last four of the FA Cup.

The Nigerian striker wrote himself into Foxes folklore with his brilliant brace in their 3-1  win against Manchester United last month.

And now his name will go down in CRISPORY as Leicester-based snacks giant Walkers are to mark their first semi-final for 39 years by launching a new range of tortilla chips called IheaNACHOS.

They will be in shops before Brendan Rodgers’ men play Southampton at  Wembley on April 18, for the right to face Chelsea or Manchester Cityin the final.

Leicester and England legend Gary  Lineker will star in a £1million TV advert­ising campaign, which will also reference another of the current City heroes.

The Match of the Day host is screened sitting naked in a bath of crisps, eating the IheaNACHOS from the FA Cup before he looks into the camera and says the slogan: “Will you love ’em? Yes Ndidi!”

Lineker also has a quip at opponents Saints and their manager Hasenhuttl by saying: “They melt in your Ralph.”

And in another dig at Southampton,  IheaNACHOS multi-packs will contain NINE bags — referring to Leicester’s 9-0 win over the Saints in October 2019.

A sauce close to Iheanacho said he is delighted to dip into the tortilla market.

Walkers spokesman Freddie Salted said: “We are still proud to support Leicester and are proud to commemorate the club’s FA Cup run with our fantastic new brand.

“Just like Kelechi, we are confident that IheaNACHOS will go down well — not only with Foxes fans, but football supporters all over the country.

“And if they do, we will then have all our experts  get cracking with developing a champagne flavour.”

Some killer stats I hadn't seen before

 

Kelechi Iheanacho is back. But then, he has always shown an uncanny eye for goal, from the moment he scored Manchester City’s last-minute winner at Crystal Palace in September 2015, netting 54 seconds after coming on with his first shot on target in the Premier League. By the end of the following season, the Nigerian had 12 league goals to his name from only 19 shots on target, a ludicrous conversion rate that convinced Leicester to take out their chequebook. He is simply not a man to chance his arm: he shoots when he’s pretty sure he can score. Recently he has shown this once again, scoring seven goals in Leicester’s last four games in all competitions from eight shots on target. He has had just 11 shots on target since 3 December, but has scored nine goals. In his entire career there have only been three club matches when he has had more than one shot on target and still failed to score. In short, Manchester City should probably keep a close eye on him. But then, they knew that already.

 

 

He scores when he shoots, he scores when he shoots etc, etc :jump:

Wait, Rodgers is actually praising him :o. Must like him now :ph34r:

Nice to see Rodgers praise him but it's only really because of Rodger's tendency to harshly drop him that he hasn't scored twice as many goals for you. Still firmly believe that Kelechi will be back on the bench once Barnes and Maddison are both back, if not sooner.
