Slimani - Get him back in

Recommended Posts

If there was no recall clause in his loan he made obviously made someone important at the club very angry and as a result the club have no intention of ever seeing him in a Leicester shirt again. The signs were there when he publicly said he wanted to sign for Newcastle before playing a single match

The way we're playing at the min he would do a job. He'd hold up the ball and get on the end of crosses.

Maybe he is a bit of a di*k, but pretty sure if you asked people who didn't like him if they'd rather put up with him if it meant winning more games they'd be okay with it.

Won't be able to recall him or add him to squad now though.

Well maybe we should question why the **** that is with one of biggest investments?

Or is that just heindsight?

Because he probably doesn't want to be here and maybe he didn't/doesn't fit in to Rodgers' tactics?

Apart from the CL, I don't think he ever really felt comfortable here. Mahrez may have helped him join but once he went, maybe he didn't feel at home as much. Pure speculation to be honest from me.

Yeah I seem to remember Slim doing well in our Champions League campaign and having a fairly decent scoring record.

You should keep a diary if you're struggling..

1 goal in 5 games.

Got the feeling he hated it here.

We not scoring because we cant keep the ball forward, and are not clinical enough to score from one chance every 20-40 mins.

Our problem is the midfield, they wont press, and when they have the ball they cant get it forward quickly and effectively.

This isnt the 1990s football manager game where you just get yourself a good goalie and striker not caring about rest of team and fly up the league.

Ah classic football fan logic. A player always becomes seemingly better when away from the club and perhaps when your first XI are struggling.

Lets be fair Slimani is about as much use here as Roman Bednar was.

Not a bad centre forward but was totally wrong for the club back then and even more so now under Rodgers.

To put it simply, fvck bringing Slimani back.

I always rated him so bring him back. Might be good to have a bit of bite in the squad again.

The truth was he was no good for the pl.

1  no upper body strength to avoid being pushed about by centre backs.

2. Awful first touch... in pl you dont get time on the ball... so you make time by a great first touch

3. Very slow to accelerate

Better in southern euro walking football.

Leave him.. hes not worth it.

No point having a striker if you dont create **** all. We have 2 good strikers in Vardy and Nacho but absolutely zero creativity other than Madders who has gone off the boil. Our wingers have got to be some of the worst in the league!

Why continue this story with Madders as our only creative spark, like the clueless pundits on TV? He is not. We have people who can do it: Tielemans, Barnes, Perez, Nachos etc (even Madders if in the right role) but we just need Rodgers to play the right team, right formation and right mentality, instead of focussing on passing at the back (and being pressed there) and finding no way to get the ball upfield to our creative players in the right areas.

But you are otherwise right: we lack creativity and we have no plan re attacking from wide areas but yet Rodgers keep trying to with the wrong personnel.

We just need to play like we did first half and the game before. Play Nachos try to get it up quickly through the middle and creative movements.
