He tends to look a little nervy, defensive, passive to me, but that was a big improvement. Always said it about him, he’s too nice. Think it was the Swansea game years ago, he got into them and looked unreal. Don’t know if it’s confidence or what, but he’s got a lot of attributes. His is a mentality issue for me. 8
splinterdream Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 I think Amartey is definitely a player to keep in the squad, he's certainly good enough for that 1
Bossman Blessed It Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 Looks like he's hit the gym in his time off too - seemed to win a lot of his physical battles and the pace to catch De Bruyne at one stage was wonderful.
Popular Post Hales Posted 27 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 27 September 2020 He was brilliant today, to play like he did after such a long time out and in such a high pressure game was amazing 👏👏 6 1
foxinsocks Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 When someone puts in a performance likr that we need to say ok you convinced us and cut him some slack... everyone needs a well done

I'll admit I wasn't exactly over the moon to see DA start. But credit where due, after such a long layoff I thought he embodied the fight and spirit shown throughout the whole team today. Now time for the lad to kick on, make up for lost time, show this wasn't a one off and ram my past opinions down my throat Big ups DA 1
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 27 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 27 September 2020 If Amartey starts we beat Man City, its as simple as that. Started twice won twice, scored 9. The end 6 3

As for Amartey, I'm made up for the lad. To go through what he has and come back with that performance shows his mental resilience. I myself thought his city career was over and thought the arsenal game was more about getting him in the shop window and showing he's fit. Turns out he could be like a knew signing for us. Great to finally see him get a run at CB too, something alot of us having been saying for years.
katieakita Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 People forget a very bad injury due to other events on the night just after getting into a decent run of games. People on here happy to knock the likes of Dan, Mendy and Praet but forget the coaching staff are working with these guys day in and day out and we will need a decent competitive squad and they know what they can do. The guy deserves a bit of good luck after so much bad 1
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 I think he's an asset to have as a squad player. Plus he was tidy and efficient today. But I won't go overboard. For where we want to get to as a club. Dan will only ever be a back up. 1
foxinsocks Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 Wes fofana Wes fofana We don't need thee We got amarty He's massive in ghana 1
Jaspa Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 Very harsh to be given a yellow. Man City still full of tactical fouls in their own half and grabbing the ball and running off with it too, refs let players do what they like
majaco Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 So, our centre backs are Soyuncu, Evans, New signing Amartey with Fuchs as back up.

FrankieADZ Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 tbf before he got injury he was performing reasonably well imo, i'd like us to keep him tbh, he looks quite comfortable in a 3 and hes capable of playing a number of positions too which atm we need
RumbleFox Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 There’s just something about big Dan I can’t help but love. He’s just got such a lovely face. I’m happy for him to stay here until he retires. We love you big man. X 2
Royston. Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 Still lacked composure on the ball but in a back 3 looked absolutely fine.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 (edited) Fook sake kids, i must have said 10 times that if we play Amartey he has to play at CB and in a 3 Don’t have a go at me for being right ffs! He’s ok when he’s a wing-man, just not the pilot. Today, the reality was he made some great interceptions, but we looked very susceptible at set pieces into the box I wouldn’t play him in a back 4 personally, but in this formation he can do a job. Which I’ve said before... Edited 27 September 2020 by Col city fan
Dr The Singh Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 I called him shit before the game and had little faith in the guy. He proved today he can be effective, and did well. Good on the guy.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 So pleased for him. Hopefully he can build on this, plenty of opportunities for him this season. 1

His is a mentality issue for me. 100% a mentality issue Babs. He’s always had everything required to be a very good contributor at this level but it’s whether he believes it himself/he’s aggressive enough to get after it. Brendan will love the versatility he brings though. If you start Daniel Amartey, you know you could start with a back 3 and change it to a back 4 if needed and he could even do a job moving into a 2 man pivot in defensive midfield and shield the defence. Could definitely see him play a lot more regularly. Edited 27 September 2020 by GingerrrFox 1
kyleolly Posted 27 September 2020 Posted 27 September 2020 His touch is terrible but I was quite confident of a decent defensive performance from him today especially as everybody was slagging him off before the game God bless big Dan Am

From a very large family, he arrived in Leicester and felt very isolated bringing very few possessions beyond his Bible, but his faith in God carried him through. Must have been devastating for him having broken his leg, to then find out about the tragic events that followed than night. 4
