David Hankey Posted 16 May 2021 Posted 16 May 2021 I'm not going to be picky ARM1968 but it is a "privilege" that can be bestowed on a person "upon a valued member of society" and in that respect and context I think it worthy of consideration and particularly when you consider his sensational goal gave this Club and the City of Leicester something it has never had before.

Popular Post moore_94 Posted 16 May 2021 Popular Post Posted 16 May 2021 (edited) Agreement near to completion Youri Tielemans to be rewarded with new Leicester deal after FA Cup final heroics Youri Tielemans is close to signing a new contract with Leicester City in another huge boost for the FA Cup winners. Tielemans has been in talks over a long-term deal for weeks and an agreement is near to completion for the perfectionist who embodies the rebuild under Brendan Rodgers. The brilliant winning goal on Saturday represented another crucial contribution from Leicester’s “coach on the pitch”, who has seen pretty much everything the game has to offer since making his debut at 16 years old with Anderlecht. The Belgium international is never going to be photographed falling out of nightclubs; he is a deep thinker who reviews all of his matches with his agent and was swiftly promoted to Leicester’s "leadership group" after his £32 million move from Monaco. He is already studying for his coaching badges and is regarded by Leicester team-mates as the benchmark for professionalism. Despite his vast experience he only turned 24 this month, and his importance to Rodgers is underlined by the fact that he has played in 49 of Leicester’s 51 matches this season. After scoring his brilliant winner against Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup final, there was a telling moment when he pointed to the Leicester badge as he ran to celebrate in front of the supporters. Both parties are optimistic about resolving his contract situation soon. Rodgers views Tielemans as an integral part of his revolution, a ruthlessly efficient modern-day midfielder who brings out the best in his team-mates. Persuading him to join on a permanent deal in July 2019, amid competition from perceived "bigger" clubs, will go down as one of the pivotal moments in Rodgers’ tenure. Crucially, Tielemans will now be further convinced that he can realise his ambitions with Leicester. The club face Chelsea again on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge and another victory over Thomas Tuchel would all but secure Champions League qualification. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/05/16/upwardly-mobile-youri-tielemans-personifies-leicester-citys/?utm_content=football&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1621200978-1 Edited 16 May 2021 by moore_94 9 3

Brilliant modern elite footballers that sum up the ethos and attitude we want here, and they will only improve. Youri especially, he is key- even more so after Saturday. Continue to build the team around these two Edited 16 May 2021 by TJB-fox

The Frerdom of the City is a brilliant way to recognise what he has done. Maybe.... just maybe give it to Youri and the 5 immortals? 1

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 17 May 2021 Posted 17 May 2021 Reckon that goal added another 10k to the contract we're offering him. Seriously.

Claridge’s shin? Or perhaps even Hazard (if you can count another teams player)? Edited 17 May 2021 by Wasyls Pec Deck

Chrysalis Posted 17 May 2021 Posted 17 May 2021 (edited) Youri has grown up really well, his first season after permanent signing, he seemed to only care about getting glory goals and didnt dig in as much as needed, now he seems fully motivated every game, making tackles, key passes, shouting at players not doing the right thing, doing the dirty professional fouls to break up counters, he's a complete player now. Spudulike Posted 17 May 2021 Posted 17 May 2021 Probably been posted before but this is my favourite angle. Just look at our fans behind that goal 3 1
