SheppyFox Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 He’s not improved since we bought him, why anyone would want to make him a part of our future starting 11 is beyond me, never mind build the squad around him

Never rated him when playing over 90 mins and he really hadn’t progressed at all He severely weakened us when he came on. Lacked positional discipline and had to be moved central because he wasn’t supporting Ricardo well at all. I thought he did okay but left us more open but I cant complain too much
mod hero Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 He’s rubbish. Can’t be arsed to write anymore than that
lgfualol Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 Wish he put that shot top corner instead of out the ground. Had a quid on before the game that we would win 3-1..

He's looked great lately, being fast and direct with the ball, tracking back for tackles. He's been dropped for 2 games as the systems changed slightly against the bigger teams. He came on in a period of high pressure where he would be an outlet with the ball rather than hamza (as well as he played). He was then moved inside as Maddison stopped pressing and tracking back and was brought off. The guys 21/22 and is a takent and is maturing and playing well this year. Stop writing off our young players whilst they're developing.
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 If there is a blind alley to run down you can guarantee Gray will be the first one to find it.
yorkie1999 Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 When your beating a team like Man City, gray is the perfect player to bring on. You don’t need a goal, you need the threat of a goal with a young pacey player. It stops the opposition defenders pushing forward
The_Rorab Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 Glad that now the overall performances and results have picked up we still have time to rail against one of our players!

splinterdream Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 I agree, gray doesn't fulfil any role well, he's had lots of match time, should be looking towards somebody better
Fox85 Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 I wouldn't be fussed if Gray was sold. Our best chance to buy players could be January we are looking good in the table. Alot of players would want to come here.
Jaspa Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 He adds raw pace to the front three and has been improving recently, he keeps his head up on the ball more often now. Sub appearance today wasn't his best, certainly didn't disgrace himself. Find it odd a few in here havent chirped into the post match thread along the lines of "yeah I enjoyed that, beating the two most recent Champions back to back in the space of five days is great!", but instead the first thing they think of posting is whinging at Gray Merry Christmas lads
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 There are worse players than Gray in this league. The thing is we all hoped for so much more given the potential. I suspect we all feel a bit cheated i.e only getting a post club snog, rather than ........!!
marbles Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 Gray out, or is it still Puel out ? Im getting confused

Today is a day of great joy, but from the substitution of Gray we played with 10 men. Sorry for my criticism, but Gray has been annoying me for far too long, he just does not bring any performance that would help the Foxes....

SheppyFox Posted 27 December 2018 Posted 27 December 2018 He’s not developed much since we bought him, he’s so young though there’s plenty of time I suppose, I wouldn’t be relying on him personally though

BoyJones Posted 27 December 2018 Posted 27 December 2018 My worry about Gray is that he isn't overburdened in the brain cell department. When the winner went in yesterday, all our other players had moved out in line with the Man City defence and he just stood there near the keeper. Fortunately, he just started to jog out in time otherwise he could have had the goal disallowed. Little things like that are really frustrating. Cardinal rule is that you get onside in case the keeper saves and you might have a tap in. Lazy and and lack of awareness.
TheSomersetFox Posted 27 December 2018 Posted 27 December 2018 Wilf Zaha was getting hammered for his lack of end product until he was about 25. Gray has plenty of quality and he’s worth sticking by. At the very least he’s the least of our problems right now, been good this season.
volpeazzurro Posted 27 December 2018 Posted 27 December 2018 Age 22, cost £5m? Personally I think he's coming on ok under Puel and some young players need more time than others. In the meantime, I give you Slimani, Silva, Musa, Iheanacho, Silva and Iborra. All bigger money buys and all less likely to be considered good buys. For the money the club paid he was a snip and with him there's still the prospect of a good player in there for us.
lcfc sheff Posted 27 December 2018 Posted 27 December 2018 For the price he’s been a good buy, but we all know we could improve on him

He came on to put pressure on Delph, which was a great move and has been widely discussed here. He worked hard (much improved from last season especially defensively), did well and were it not for his skyed shot we'd have no real complaints. At 22 he's not one of the best wingers in the premier league but he is a premier league quality winger. It beggers belief that we can beat man city two one, our best performance of the season, with Gray playing a decent bit part towards the end, and some posters run here straight away to slate Gray.
