Tielemans Signs From Monaco; Silva Goes T’other Way

Recommended Posts

Brilliant signing! So excited to watch him in a Leicester shirt. If it is a short term fix, we will have enhanced our reputation in Europe with young players. Most young English players will see that if they want minutes at a premier league club, then ours is the best for development. If we could develop this reputation in Europe as a dortmund-lite then it really can be an exciting time at the club for the next few years.

Completely understand people's reservations, but we needed a cheap short term fix to get through to the summer which will probably be a big summer of upheaval with the out of contract players. We now have a fantastic prospect on loan that can play the way puel wants and has that confidence to also hit a DD like ball over the top bringing vards into play more.

Find the moans about the lack of permanent deal a bit daft. There are numerous occasions where there’s been no deal agreed but it’s gone through in the summer. I suspect it’s more Monaco shitting themselves about getting relegated and having Silva’s wages. Or FFP for both clubs

Agreed. If only Nachoman had just been a loan.

I think this is an important point- whether it's on loan or not, we've just signed one of the most highly rated young players in the world. We're quickly developing a reputation that you can come to Leicester and develop quickly as a young player.

Maddison another example- chose us over Southampton, and they were the ones with the highest reputation for player development a year or two ago.

Hopefully he can get in the team and settle in straight away, really looking forward to seeing how he plays and what he can do. great having a Belgian player and if he's half as good as some of the Belgian players that have been in the Premier League he'll be alright.

Ok, I really hope this works out for all parties, we need him to play well, love it here and sign on a permanent in the summer, by next season it’ll be Puels team (assuming he’s still here obviously) a few more of our title winning team will have moved on opening up the opportunity to strengthen the squad with more exciting young hungry players, the next few months are so important for everyone.

Not overly excited about this. He won't get us in the CL or save us from relegation. But if he is any good his value will rocket pricing us out of a possible deal.

We should be paid for the service we are giving.

Hopefully will work out for both him and Silva and then we could hopefully negotiate a decent price, and hopefully he would want to stay. Lots of hopefully's in there...

Not sure why everyone thinks puel makes the midfielders play negative football, when have Mendy, Ndidi, Choudhury been anymore than just holding midfielders? Mendy in the past had high passing accuracy at Nice but that would be because of his sideway passes, Ndidi is the ball winner and choudhury the same.

What was it about Southampton a couple of years ago that would have caused that, I wonder?

Just because you are a holding midfielder doesn’t mean you can’t pass the ball to players in advanced positions as opposed to backwards or sideways

It certainly doesn’t, but when have they done that previously in their careers? It’s just not part of their game. That isn’t Puels coaching and clearly not his intent which is why we’ve gone in Youri more than any other reason.
