It will take a big injury crisis for him to get into the England squad. Far too many players at right back and although there is less competition on the other side, it's not his best position. Southgate would probably play Trippier or James at left back.

Currently 16/1 to make Euros squad.

Should be a lot higher. In his position there is:

Alexander-Arnold

Recce James

Tripier

Walker

Wan Bissaka

Ayling

Lamptey

Although his versatility should give him the edge over some of those. It won't cause Southgate isn't really interested in adding new players to his squads these days unless they are elite youngsters like greenwood or sancho.

That's some list in front of him. Unfortunate time to be an English right back.

Southgate had James training with the first team during the last games.

Plus that list is horrific. James should be ahead of Ayling and Lamptey. I don't rate Wan Bissaka but his pace gets him out of a lot of situations, not that Southgate would drop a Man Utd player for a Leicester player anyway.

But I am more interesting to see what happens to him here once Ricardo/Castagne are back.

Shame he hasn't got the assist for Maddison's disallowed goal as it was a perfect ball but just as they showed that replay his decoy run overlapping to make the space for Albrighton is underrated.

Versatile once again today as well.

Quality so far.

My family started in hand Avenue in Brauny 😁

You're not going to believe this, but my dad was born on Hand Avenue and moved to New Parks when he was about 12.

Improving all the time. Got to the stage now where if we were to put our strongest 11 out I’d be wondering whether he’d be playing full back and Ricardo playing ahead of him in a more attacking winger role to accommodate them both in the side.
