Neither defends well at all and wingers these days have to track back and support the full back. I think the only way we can use him to his best is if we play 3-5-2 and he operates as a dual front man with Vardy or Daka. Difference is Greenwood is a quality finisher. Vardinio'sCat Posted 9 December 2021 Share Posted 9 December 2021 The africans have a point, although everyone can see his talent. Madders is a bit that way too, feeling he needs to do it all himself, and it starves Vardy of service.

Vacamion Posted 9 December 2021 Share Posted 9 December 2021 He seems to play better with Luke Thomas behind him rather than Ryan Bertrand. But who wouldn't?
steve555 Posted 9 December 2021 Share Posted 9 December 2021 He's shocking, runs into trouble, can't beat a man, can' t pass, greedy, loses every 50/50 ball, doesn't track back. If anyone is daft enough to bid £55 million snap their hands off.

MrsJohnMurphy Posted 9 December 2021 Share Posted 9 December 2021 He had the beating of their fullback every time in the first half, but he plays much better with Thomas behind him, Bertrand was making some really odd runs forward second half

splinterdream Posted 9 December 2021 Share Posted 9 December 2021 He’s coming inside far too often, he needs to mix up and keep the full back guessing. Every time he ran at the fullback tonight he knew what Barney’s was going to do before Barnes did

hejammy Posted 10 December 2021 Share Posted 10 December 2021 Harvey was playing for Harvey and not the team. Didn't help out defensively and just kept shooting from silly angles. Decision making is clearly not his strong point. Perhaps he wanted all the glory on his birthday. Although he's been like that for a while. That left hand side will always be a worry until JJ is back.
jmono84 Posted 10 December 2021 Share Posted 10 December 2021 He needs to know when to come off his line, he gets too wide and it nullifies our full backs runs. especially when the opposition sit in, he, like Vardy becomes ineffective. Unfortunately I don’t think he has good enough control or the footballing nouse to play centrally. The wide options available to us is pretty bad and has been for a few seasons now. TrickyTrevLeftPeg Posted 10 December 2021 Share Posted 10 December 2021 Harvey is frustrating. He looks our most dynamic attacking threat and is the only one who can run with the ball but he's so greedy. Lots of time he does not play the ball when he should. Shoots from crazy angles.Tries to do it all himself. So annoying to watch when you can see the ball needs to be played and he Fails to do so time and time again. lcfc_forever Posted 10 December 2021 Share Posted 10 December 2021 His defensive work is so poor as well, he was at fault for their winner along with Bertrand. However much we criticise Perez, he puts in a shift with his pressing. Ranieri dropped Mahrez because he wouldn't do the pressing side of the game enough. Barnes need to learn the same lessons.

Difference is Gray did it and did very little else in terms of goal contributions, and had never shown he could be better than that. Barnes is greedy yes, but still has as many goal contributions for us this season already as Gray usually managed in a whole season for us, and we know he can be better, and he has shown he can be better and one of our best players. Pretty easy to see why he shouldn’t get the exact same criticism Gray used to get. Edited 10 December 2021 by moore_94
