James Justin

Have enjoyed his performances. Got some composure about him and loves a last ditch tackle, which for now to me shows good recovery whether it's from his own error or a team-mates.

Seems to be versatile, too. Looks comfortable at RB/RWB and even now at CB based on today.

Definitely does help us with options in the future, even more so if we want Ricardo to attack more and Justin can slot in in the defensive slot.

Hope he can play LB otherwise he'll probably have to get used to the bench again. Can see Chilly going and Ricky staying for one more.

He's done well in his first season. Room to grow, still very young. Huge task for him to get into the England setup though, wouldn't be surprised if it turns out he has an Irish/Jamaican granny all of a sudden.

Anyone expecting a player in Justin’s situation to come in and get everything right straight off the bat is deluding themselves in what it takes to become a proper player at this level.

But you have to say the way he’s acquitted himself during a difficult induction has been nothing less than first class.

He’s clearly shown the qualities and more importantly the mentality we saw in him to make him a significant addition and want to spend time in educating him at this level.

These early signs can point to this particular investment being another astute bit of business by the club.

The last 10 games have done him the world of good. Still behind Ricardo obviously but no worries about him as cover.

His best performances have actually come as part of a back 3. There could be room for both him and Ricardo on the pitch yet

Not sure if this has been mentioned before - but just reading an article in the Athletic and apparently JJ’s dad passed away in April.

Can’t give the lad enough credit for the way he played and pushed through in what must have been such a difficult time.

Wow. Those are the kinds of things that put your life into perspective. What an absolutely top lad and when we're back in the stands, hopefully we can give him the applause he deserves.

Overall , his strength, intelligence and quick recovery have been most notable , passing and spatial awareness will certainly improve and he has a great teacher in Jonny , who has done so much for Caglar's game. Just cut out the kneejerk reactions if he has the odd bad game. Perfection in a defender is rare , even Baresi made the odd cock-up.

I actually think he'd make a good centre back either in a 3 or a 2.

Joe Gomez played at full back (Both right and left) before settling into CB and I can see quite a few similarities in their styles of play. Might be a good path for JJ to continue on.
