Agreed, but in my opinion the situation we find ourselves in - let’s go back to basics and get the defence right, build from the back etc. Is Vestegaards distribution THAT good to keep him in based on his defensive displays? His defending is a joke frankly. 4
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 Go on Bren. Give him another contract. You know you want to. 4

He 100% deserves a new contract. He might not be a first team player, but he's a very valuable squad member, and showed it again today. Yeah he has had bad games for us, but he's had plenty of good ones for us too, and today was one of them. Easily 8/10 for me today, don't think he put a foot wrong. (This is the part where someone shows me a clip showing him at fault for the Rashford goal!). 8
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 I swear his confidence on the ball has improved. He was prepared to hold onto it a little longer and find a pass to Youri in the middle. Where previously he was always keen to shunt it to the keeper or CB inside. Well done lad. 2
FoxyLeon Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 I said after Norwich away that he should not be dropped. He has something many of our players have lacked all season, 'Character'. He was prepared at Norwich, to come out from the back and drive us forward when nobody wanted the ball. When Evans doesn't play, I actually think Amartey should be the leader in the centre of defence for us. 1
kingfox Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 Is it time to finally admit that Big Dan is World Class @Col city fan ... 4
RowlattsFox Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 Bring it down, simple pass. Repeat. When he does that he's effective. Excellent.
ARTY_FOX Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 Best player to ever play the game? Pocketed mate. 1
Popular Post It'sblueupnorth Posted 16 October 2021 Popular Post Posted 16 October 2021 Dependable. Evans made a massive difference today but big Dan has to get a lot of plaudits, kept sancho and ronaldo quiet all game and even threaded a couple of nice passes into midfield. He’s got to start over Vestergaard for me it’s no question 5
theessexfox Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 I like to think I’m not being overly reactive but I’m starting to see him as a genuine starting CB option rather than emergency cover, albeit maybe that only applies in a back 3. Interesting Rodgers started him over Vestegaard, maybe because he’s more comfortable on the right of a three than Vesty but he did really well on the whole 1

I think he did more than that. I think his passing was highly intelligent, not going for the easy ball. An ultra reliable, very under appreciated first team squad player for us. Every good team needs its Big Dans. 5
Jakemoore Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 Amartey over Vestergaard. I can’t believe I’m saying this. I was his biggest critic but the boy has shown great character 😂
Popular Post Number 6 Posted 16 October 2021 Popular Post Posted 16 October 2021 Thought he was great today, looked assured and comfortable on the ball and played some good passes into midfield. 6
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 Big Dan is a very useful squad player, as he’s proving right now. People need to understand sometimes that we need players like Dan, if everyone is fit he doesn’t play but he’s needed and proving to be a capable stand in.
sdb Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 So, so good today. But will he be next time out? I can never be sure

Plus, I never underestimate a squad man who knows the culture. Someone who's been around, and training with, a winning squad for 5 years. He just knows what's expected and what to do 1 1
Popular Post lgfualol Posted 16 October 2021 Popular Post Posted 16 October 2021 It's simple, you play big Danny, you win. 6
LCFCbwoi Posted 16 October 2021 Posted 16 October 2021 I feel like he’s mistreated by the fans over his ability, central defence is arguably the hardest outfield position to come into when you’re back up player. He’s really solid whenever he has Evans next to him and has been apart of Rodgers most impressive wins, Today and Man City last season. The absolute luxury we have that a player who seems absolutely fine with his minimal role in the squad yet stays fully committed whenever he’s called on. 2
Popular Post Jimmy Posted 16 October 2021 Popular Post Posted 16 October 2021 Was an absolute rock today, loved the flare up with Sancho too, summed up the added aggression in the side 5
