Nothing wrong with his timing in the tackle at all. I've often said we need to be more snide like that. Tactical fouls to stop attacks. Maddison did it yesterday on Lacazette. Youri's done it a few times. I don't mind it. Teams do it against us. Other teams do it more regularly. Take one for the team and it frustrates the opposition too. 15

It gives everyone a chance to reset and get players back behind the ball. 1

Take one for the team and it frustrates the opposition too. It's how Liverpool and Man City play - if you can't win the ball back in three seconds, foul as high up the pitch as you can and re-set. I don't like it at all, but it's the modern way. 5

Any idiot complaining about that foul really needs to watch a different sport, it was a cynical foul for tactical reasons and he should be applauded. 1

Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 26 October 2020 Popular Post Posted 26 October 2020 Stunning pass, the moment of brilliance our game plan needed and he served it up. He really has stepped it up this season. Is often the assister of the assist and they are defence splitters, what a player. 7
5waller5 Posted 26 October 2020 Posted 26 October 2020 Quality player, and I’m a massive fan .... but 3 minutes into a game and his facial expression is of someone that’s just sprint finished a marathon, is doubled over gasping for breath and told to collect his medal from the 4th floor! 1

I think he's just one of those players that 'looks' naturally unfit. His running style is similar to Paula Radcliffe, he looks laboured and tired all the time. Having said that, although he's certainly not the quickest with his feet, his brain is lightening quick and often sees things before they happen. He's a top class central midfielder 2

It's so strange, it looks like he's blowing out his arse after about 5 minutes. But then 80 minutes in he does that. 1

Clever Fox Posted 26 October 2020 Posted 26 October 2020 Overall I didn't think it was one of his better games for us tonight. To many lose passes when in good possession. He did step up with that sublime pass to Under for the goal, and that's what good players do. Produce something from nothing. I still think he has another gear and will get better.

egg_fried_rice Posted 26 October 2020 Posted 26 October 2020 Counter to what some are saying in this thread, I noticed that Youri seemed a lot fitter yesterday. After a largely frustrating game on the ball (until that magnificent pass!) he could have easily let his head drop and not expended the required effort, but he was always where he needed to be defensively and to receive the ball in midfield - a real workhorse performance. He's got real grit and determination in his game, as well as obvious quality. All the ingredients of a top player.
Popular Post davieG Posted 26 October 2020 Popular Post Posted 26 October 2020 https://www.90min.com/posts/leicester-youri-tielemans-lucrative-new-contract-exclusive Leicester Ready to Offer Youri Tielemans Lucrative New Contract By Jamie Spencer | Oct 26, 2020, 10:30 AM GMT Youri Tielemans Leicester want to reward Youri Tielemans with a new contract | James Williamson - AMA/Getty Images Exclusive - Leicester are ready to offer midfield star Youri Tielemans a lucrative new contract that will push the 23-year-old Belgian towards the bracket of top earners at the club. Having seen his career stall at Monaco following a high profile move from Anderlecht in 2017, Tielemans has been re-ignited since making the switch to King Power Stadium in January 2019 and his initial six-month loan was made permanent for around £40m. Although he suffered a dip in form towards the end of last season, as did most in the Leicester squad, Tielemans was a major factor as the Foxes finished fifth, securing European football for only the second time since 2000/01. He has similarly started 2020/21 in fine form and made vital contributions on Sunday night as his team beat Arsenal away for the first time in 47 years. Tielemans' continued excellence has led Leicester to realise they need to appropriately reward him for his progress, and 90min has been informed by a source that they are keen to tie him down to a new and improved contract. There are concerns that he is wanted by bigger European clubs and Juventus, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain have all made discreet enquiries. The player himself is happy at Leicester - Juve, Inter and PSG have all been told that - and is grateful to the club for giving him the chance to kick-start his career. He is also pleased with the positive direction the Foxes are heading in and was happy to see the recruitment of Wesley Fofana and Cengiz Under over the summer. Tielemans ultimately believes that Leicester are now capable of earning a place in the Champions League, which matches his own ambitions as a player. He has previously played in the competition with both Anderlecht and Monaco. Tielemans would therefore be ready to sign a new contract and commit himself to Leicester, and the club are prepared to offer him a six-figure weekly wage comparable to the £100,000-a-week deal James Maddison signed over the summer. Only Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel are thought to earn more at Leicester. 5
Tielemans63 Posted 26 October 2020 Posted 26 October 2020 I love him. Genuinely one of the top 3 midfielders who I've seen a Leicester shirt. Would love to see him extend his contract. 1
Daz93 Posted 26 October 2020 Posted 26 October 2020 (edited) I think he has definitely been developing the defensive side of his game and helping fill the void left by Ndidi. Three matches in a row now he has taken a yellow for the team, which has completely stopped an attack from developing. We've not done that well in recent years, which has led us to conceding penalties & stupid goals, as well as needless sending offs for our defenders. Madders did the same yesterday, so it must be something we have looked at for this season. His fitness has definitely improved as well, he was still quick to close down at the end of the game and still had enough in him to play a great ball for Cengiz. Only missed 21 minutes for both us an Belgium since the season started... Wouldn't be surprised to see him start again on Thursday. Edit: Just realised the other international game and Carabao are missing from this list... so he has missed loads more minutes, I'm talking out my arse. Edited 26 October 2020 by Daz93 1

I agree we were far too nice last season, while I don’t like these tactical fouls it is to the benefit of the team, and a lot of teams even the best sides do it.
AKCJ Posted 26 October 2020 Posted 26 October 2020 Anyone got a clip of the goal from the perspective of the fancy camera at the Emirates where it changes angles?
Popular Post AKCJ Posted 26 October 2020 Popular Post Posted 26 October 2020 (edited) In my search for the fancy camera perspecive I found this. It's no commentary with the sounds of the players. https://streamable.com/4vvxef You can hear Vardy scream "CENGO" before the cross. Edited 26 October 2020 by AKCJ 4 4

Funniest thing about the clip is that they still have the announcer! Most pointless job since the person who fits indicators to BMWs. 2 3

ARM1968 Posted 26 October 2020 Posted 26 October 2020 Sensational player. Young and probably a year or two from perfection. He will be world class or very close to it. We have a young side which needs experience, needs to learn the dark arts better, but most importantly, needs to stay together. Still think we should go after Malen as Vardy’s long term replacement. Probably won’t happen.
