They don’t. UEFA charges are case closed. It was UEFAs own rules which overturned it.

The rules Man City broke were the same rules designed to keep us in our place. 

 

Nothing positive for us will come of this. If there's any knock on to us, which I doubt, it'll be negative.

Questions....

 

If the punishment is relegation, when does that happen? How will the accommodate them in? Extra team gets promoted? If they win a cup this season or win the premier league, what then? Do they stop them playing this season completely? 

 

If they get a points deduction this season, do they get a clean slate next season even if they're relegated? That doesn't seem fair. Or do the get points deduction again? What if they win the FA cup this season, do they play in Europe? 

 

One thing is for certain a lengthy transfer ban should be in place whatever else happens. Should be for years. 

 

They cheated full stop, but what a mess they have created. I feel for the fans

I might be wrong but I think they were charged within the sanctionable period but then obfuscated and delayed proceedings until it was time barred.

Delighted. It’ll be 6-12 months for the appeal to play out but then I can put a full stop on watching top level club football. 
 

It was a relief to give up my season ticket this summer after Top & Rudkin destroyed my love for the club. I’d naively hoped I could still enjoy PL football but I just can’t. 

 

The PL is and has been corrupt for years and a competition without a level playing field isn’t worth watching. 
 

Unfortunately for people like me, who’d like to enjoy international football on that basis, Infantino is doing his best to ruin  that too.

 

Because I’ve always loved the game, I’ll continue to watch Leagues One & Two & National League games for a while. Probably not for much longer.

 

Good job I enjoy cricket, athletics & tennis…

Id be careful on that. Only 1 source on that and its a twitter account. 

 

We missed out on CL football by a whisker twice, but 1 billion is insane.

for most premier league teams, I suspect they could make a claim stick that Man City should not have finished a place above them and hence they missed out on single place prize money - say £1m 

 

for most clubs the cost of pursuing this would make it not worth the effort and cost.  But then for us, we are desperate for every penny we can get. Whilst it would potentially take years for an appeal to be heard , we would very much like to negotiate on that £3m covering the three seasons we finished below them. 
 

thinking about the overall situation, the premier league, premier league clubs and Man City will be talking about the best and cheapest way of bringing this to a conclusion. The PL doesn’t want a dragged out expensive appeals process. 
 

I wonder if we could see a compensation package worked out for premier league clubs and Man City accepting sanctions such as a huge fine, significant points deduction (say 45 points) which they feel they can overcome and avoid relegation plus a two year transfer embargo. 
 

it’s not in the leagues interest for this to drag on and if Man City agree not to drag out an appeal in exchange for lesser sanctions then that could be where we’re headed.
