There can’t be many teams that can make a 3-0 win feel underwhelming, but Leicester certainly manage it

They could have easily been 2-1 up at half time, bottom of the league and even in a 3-0 win we made it harder than it needed to be

Alves was good, Riis scores goals, and Kangas definitely needs to play more

Chaplin is crap, Smallbone is meh

Matt Piper thought Small one played very well.

He was so average. He's another tidy player who has nothing about him. Useful if a team needs a steadying influence but that's the last thing we need.

Braybrooke was a touch sloppy once or twice but it took him 5 seconds to do something more positive/forward thinking than Chaplin or Smallbone

Braybrooke injects tempo to the game. Which is exactly what we need.

Granted Smallbone needs games to get his fitness up, but he was very safe in everything he did tonight. Neat and tidy, but safe

Weird game, weird atmosphere. Half empty stadium. I can genuinely say that our first goal tonight is the first competitive Leicester goal ever that I didnt even flinch for, and neither did loads of people. Utterly bizarre feeling. Dejected, lifeless, meaningless. League one is a soleless place to be.

I thought the midfield first half worked well  with some good interplay which led to some great opportunities but the final ball let us down on many occasions. Riis does his roll perfectly. Defensively we are so vulnerable. Every long ball catches us out. Lack of pace in this team is worrying. So we seem to have found a good attacking formula but the defence is a concern. Joseph and Kangasniemi will improve this with added pace but which two would you replace. My opinion is O'Hora an Okoli.

Watching on tele did anyone get the feeling this felt like an early round of cup competition when your up against a lower league side, when you just scored and the celebrations are half arsed. To win 3-0 at home in the league is something we haven't done for while yet don't feel excited about it.

Yeah it was drab but it could have been worse—we could have roll Dover.

We could and should have been 2-1 down at half time.

A wins a win, but far from as convincing as the score suggests.

It's boring, flat and I struggle to get enthusiastic about anything to do with Leicester City at the minute.

A poor game to watch, but at least it’s a step in the right direction. Alves was brilliant, Braybrooke and Cullen did well off the bench, and credit where it's due McCarthy I thought had a good game. Nice to finally have a striker who can finish and Riis should be targeting 20+ goals. Still we’re nothing special. Our squad has plenty of average players and it's not hard to see how we've already lost 4 games with this defence

3 points great result but boy the quality is woeful.

Wigan were abysmal and we made hard work of it.

This level of football is utterly dreadful.

Atmosphere  was non existent.

Even celebrating goals now lacks any passion

The lacklustre performances, slow play have contributed to a muted atmosphere to the point it's not exciting and barely enjoyable. Even the goal celebrations were muted.

Our defence is a total shambles and luckily we have had some luck in these matches.

We overplay every move. This type of football is hard to enjoy. And yes we bloody won!

Guessing I’m not the only one who had conversations like this when they got home.

Wife: what was the score?

Me: we won 3-0

Wife: that’s good then

Me: hmm, it was a little bit boring

Wife: you’re never happy

Me: 😳

This probably sounds crazy saying this, but I genuinely think Top/Rudkin etc might think this would be possible- We are light years away from any of the teams that have gone back to back promotion wise in recent years.

Even if we somehow scrap promotion through the play offs this year, we have not recruited to grow a team into challengers next season.

Incredibly average team, even at this level.

Only watched on TV but have heard plenty saying it themselves - utterly bizarre game with an atmosphere resembling a friendly.

We were bad. Wigan were probably the worst opposition to ever come to this ground in a league game.

Job done but absolutely nothing to give you any real confidence. Even relative to this league there'll be teams who punish some of our play tonight. It sounds pathetic to say it but if we play like that against even Stevenage on Saturday we'll lose.

It's increasingly tedious seeing segments of our fanbase lapping this sort of thing up as if it's anything other than the bare minimum. In the bigger picture we are still absolutely miles behind expectations.

The more people do this, the more you let the manager and board off for further underperformance. The more we'll continue to have another Luton, another Peterborough, another Oxford around the corner.

Like I say, job done, Riis looks a decent buy and it's nice to have a striker who just simply plays like a striker after having Ayew inflicted on us for so long. Alves did well. Actually thought Smallbone was steady as well.

But they are miles off convincing me. Absolutely miles off. This changes nothing in my eyes.

Spot on.

I said in the match thread that Wigan had turned up to get done 3-0 and go home again.

Looked for a while we were going to make that harder than it needed to be.

Like others have said, really bizarre feel to that game.
