You know hes bad when other team fans that hate us, feel sorry for us 😆.  Really do hope he does prove people wrong but can see this falling apart really quickly.

Is it really a 3 year deal? **** me. We are an absolute shit show.  I don't like him. Strikes me as all cock and no balls. The absolute opposite of Pearson and O'Neill.  That said - I hope he does a splendid job and takes us to the prem in those three years he's got. Better that than having to pay him off.

Willing to give him a chance, hope he proves me wrong. Trouble is he’ll need to have a near perfect season else the crowd will turn.

This appointment has been 4/5  years in the making I think.

This thread is 10% about Martin and 90% pure frustration at the club and the last few years of pain

its a very grim read and tbh the amount of hatred on this forum isn’t good for anyone’s mental health

everyone has an opinion but it’s turned into pure mob mentality hatred

the worst thing we can currently have this guy for is not liking his tactics or a crap spell at rangers - or quite simply he looks like a smarmy git - none of the above crimes of the century against us but the personal and even semi constructive comments are still well over the top in a negative way

I know my football as well as anyone and have seen the last 30 years as much as any of you on here and the continued negative outpost of hatred right now just doesn’t help anything or anyone

And yes this is a forum and yes your entitled to your opinion but let’s at least try and keep it constructive- would you talk to the guys face in the way you do on here ? And if you would your a really crap example of a decent human being

I’ll be giving him a chance - I don’t love the appointment but now it’s done the negative and hatred has to stop - take that into the ground again from August and it will be another tough place to be on a Saturday and I don’t want my young daughter to hear it or see it again this year - we as a fan base are as responsible as anyone to change the feeling around the place and it has to start somewhere

Wasn’t my 1st choice, as I really wanted to see a change in playing style and strategy but that is on the clubs hierarchy. I would have loved to see someone like Challinor.

Now he is here I will be hoping and praying he is a massive success, as this is what the club so desperately needs to survive. His interview seems ok, I like what he was saying but he has to convert that to on the pitch performances and results. Massive job ahead and I really hope in 3 years time he has shocked the vast majority and become a hero.

I agree with what you put. I have said before that a lot of fans on this I’m sure with negative comments are like sheep following a shepherd. Not all but quite a few of the comments are from fans who have no idea what they are on about just follow the leader.

How Sadler and Hughes have managed to cling on is completely beyond me. Both of them utterly hopeless and complicit our downfall. Sadler twice ffs.

Reeves too.

Him being kept on, is criminal.

We must have been one of the unfittest squads in the Championship last year.

I don't think there's much that's levelled at him on a personal level.  I have nothing against him as a man. I don't really see hatred here, mostly deep frustration.

The vast majority of the negativity is aimed at the club's leadership because in 5 years, through a series of terrible decisions, they've taken us from a solid Premier League team who had just won the FA Cup to a club in absolute freefall.  We've reached League One now, but who knows where this fall from grace will end?

A good chunk of the perceived reason why this has happened (not the only reason by a long shot) is that we have this insane obsession with playing a style of football that we've never had the players for, is boring to watch and is being tactically undone in the wider game.  Yet we persist.

Now we've suffered a double relegation, this is the time for a major reset.  Top even did a video last year hinting that things were going to change.  McCarron was brought in as the extra help that Rudkin clearly needed, yet here we are appointing a manager that has a footballing philosophy firmly aligned to this failed experiment.  Nothing has changed.  What's worse is that it's clear we've courted RM for a number of years which means this is an appointment by design,  rather than through desperation.

What's worse still is that all the fans have a good grasp of his CV which shows no evidence whatsoever of notable success and, in fact, with the level of recent failure makes the appointment even more questionable.

Would be keen to compare Pearson's first comments in the summer of 2008 to Martin's last night. It helps nobody being negative from the off but so does being completely ignorant to where we are as a club and what is required to truly effect a change and rebuild.

Fans rounding up the discontent as unhelpful and unfair need to see the bigger picture, this has been caused by the ownership and board. They have further caused undue pressure and disconnect, if you expect fans to keep accepting this and backing them then we've got absolutely no hope of recovering from this. How else will change ever be found, relying on this lot to strike gold again? Their luck has ran out. Fans are angry and have every right to be.

I think the best thing for those that are is to stay away now, then at least those that want to give yet another chance can do so without any excuses if it fails again.

Minimum requirement from Martin is promotion and in a fashion thats not horribly short sighted. Will there be any outside impact in regards to our financial issues, I still struggle to see how we operate without major owner investment and let's hope last season is our one and only points deduction we face as a club.

It's common practice until they announce RMs own staff. The concern would be that the financial situation only allows him to bring in one or two and they stay on to support as cheaper options.

Which has seemingly been the case ever since Cooper left.

I really need to stop coming to Cornwall! Was here last year and Cifuentes gets announced and again this year and this happens. I promise not to come next year and maybe we will appoint someone more bearable next summer!

Also the comments about accountability and high standards from McCarron. What planet is he on! Complete drip. Clearly a waste of a salary and as we thought, a shield for Rudkin to hide behind.

Those saying expectations are to win the league/get promoted, in what way is that a realistic aim? When you are on a fall as steep as ours, you don’t go from winning, what less than 20 games over a 2 season period to suddenly winning 30 odd in a season. The realistic expectation is to try and halt the slide which means staying up and not having a third relegation on the bounce!
